Not to sound prudent, but I ain't so sure a 'multiple' renaming ceremony is in the interest of common good. Personally I think it's a bad idea, but whudda I know. Seems to me it would only serve to confuse and anger the gods. I will consult with the elders for a ruling ...

Red, lets make a mold.  Frankie was going to remove the hatch and glue the small crack but it needed to be off for a couple of days and we have rain forcast for next week.  Let me know when you're ready to check out the mechanics.

Jerry, would that be the snake gods?  Get busy with the 16, I would love to see it.

Doug, quit being a pooter head.

Dan, and anyone else interested in naming and renaming.  I can read the and officiate the ceremony, but you will need to bring the christening beverage of your choice.

Chris, (Hotwired) are you going to be able to make the Iowa meet?  You know you don't have to have a boat.  Hot Knots would be honored for you to ride with us.  Chris found the CV23 for me but was on a hunting trip when I finalized the deal, and his cousin checked it out and sent me pictures before I went to Phoenix to get her.

Everyone else thanks for the encouragement.

Barb, as soon as I get this Celebrity out of the way we can get a mold made, and back to our boats, I'm hoping to get it fired up today, spent yesterday trying to figure out how to wire it up, I've never seen so many wires on a motor ... Grrrr.

OleRed, you haven't seen mine. Ford 460 fuel injected, probably a car engine that was transformed to a marine engine... Tons of control units, cables and most of them change their colors from yellow on one end and purple on the other end, in between we find green and white..

Now tell me something about cables :D

Doug, quit being a pooter head
Heh heh heh. Hey what's a pooter? In redneck terms it's a pus, uh, er has to do with the female genetalia. If you're referring to the "Pooter Tooter", the handheld imitation *Censored* producing device? Then I take it as a compliment. But I don't need no dang handheld device. Do it the old fashioned way ...

Boat looks great Barb! Carry on.

The Censored words list hasn't been touched in years as far as I'm aware Doug...so yea, looks like it is...unless you put quotes around...apparently.

LOL ...  I mean, take it easy on her Doug,  the three most important things I've learned about women, I'm not going to win any dispute, I'm not going to get in the last word, and I'm better off just listening.

This Celebrity I'm working on was a winter project that me and my brother-in-law aquired as a winter project, 1997 model 350 mag that has been "mangled" with automotive carb and intake, dist, and all the original electronic's were not present, I have since installed all the right stuff, and a wiring harness that is "suposed" to be compatible, I'm just Not familiar with all this later model stuff, two of everything, but different functions, and Yes, I've been through an EFI education on the stroker ... I sold it and put on a carb.

I was thinking about doing the same but I had it running once, so in case I can fire it up and have it run properly again, I'm good with it.

Last year the guys up in Minnesota were so very kind to creat this trophy for the hard luck award.  All I had to do to earn it was break a prop blade and grind the gears up in a drive.  It was actually quite an easy task.  Red was with me on both occasions.  Thanks guys.

Well.....  Red pulled the drive today because we knew she needed a new gimbal bearing and an impellar.  He checked the fluid and it was full......of water.  Rusty gears and bearings burned up and twisted seals etc.....   We got a plan B though.

I wonder if the club could get a truckload discount on drives???  Seems there is a lot of that going around.  Jeff last year at the MN meet.  Lawson locked up the day he got back from the meet.  Burning Daylights eats drives like my brother on the 4th of July (one is never enough)!!!  :o

What is Plan B?  Lawson is talking about a SEI drive.  I have been looking at a used drive down here in AZ for him but he is liking the warranty offered by SEI.

It seems I've been doing a bunch of drive shaft seals lately too. I just resealed a drive for one of my customers yesterday. The guy's boat is a late 80's 19 foot cuddy runabout with a 3.0 liter Mercruiser, hadn't been maintained for some time. I ended up doing almost an overhaul on the drive system - rebuild carb, fuel pump, shift cable, gimbal bearing, drive shaft bellows, alternator belt, a bunch of rewiring, it was a mess. Well the drive bellows had holes in it and the upper shaft yoke seal was leaking bady, there was oil in the bellows and water in the drive oil. I replaced the seal and pressure checked the drive, the other seals seemed to be ok. The shift cable was rotted thru at the bell housing so when I was removing it it fell apart.

Plan B....OleRed is pretty resourceful when it comes to finding parts and getting them priced reasonably.  He is going to install the gimbal bearing this morning and then I am going to pull her over to Shawnee Oklahoma about a 45 minute drive east to a used dealer called Boaties.  Boaties is the shop that did the clear coat on Burnin Daylight, so the owner Donnie is pretty familiar with me and has known Red for a long time.  Anyway he has made me a deal on another used drive that he will warranty, at a price that I can afford and will take mine in on trade for parts.  Once I get a dependable drive, keep it serviced and don't put too much horsepower in front of it then it should last a good long time on that boat.
