Title: Precious Memories ...
Post by: OleRed on December 03, 2010, 01:29:46 AM
My precious Mom passed from this life of 86 years this afternoon, to an eternal life with no more pain and suffering.  Mom was a wonderful mother, and a faithful wife for over 50 years,  her whole life was dedicated to serving the Lord, caring for her children, praying for and doing for others.

Red, it sounds like your mother and mine, who passed away October 6th of this year, were made from the same mold. Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints.

Sincere condolences OleRed, I know what a tough time this is.  Thanks for sharing the pics and videos of you mom, sounds like she was a grand Lady.  The short smile that slipped out when you talked her into cracking the throttle on the Simitar was PRICELESS!  I know she'll live in your heart forever.  You're in our thoughts and prayers buddy.

PS - Doug is so right everybody, if your Mom is still around, give her an extra hug next time you see her.

She will be missed...  I never had the chance to meet her, but I can speak for the club when I say it felt like we all knew her in a little way.

Sorry to hear of your loss Red. Lost my dad in the spring of 09
As we all know, death is a part of life. We just never know when its our time but she undoubtedly had a great and long life. We can hope is quick and painless. I sincerely hope she did not suffer.
Time surely goes faster as we get older. I wish I could view the videos but I have dial up.
Thinkin about you today.

It was a great ceremony, she was loved and respected by many. The eulogy was given by a preacher that she practically raised as a grandchild. Everything spoken of her was first hand.
She lived her life by the book and She is the reason Red is so giving.

Thanks for the kind words Glenn, but let me say just one more time ... Wow ! ... You and Debra sure do clean up good, I appreciate you two so much, making such a trip to be there.  I think today will be a better day, yesterday I helped my sister and Johnny move Mom's furnature and belongings out from the living center where she's stayed the last few years.  Mom has told us for Years that when it came time for her to require full time care, that she wanted to be in a place like that, because she did not want to be a burden for any of her children. I could go on, and on, about my mom here, but to keep it boat related I'll just say this ... Mom loved being on the lake, water sking, fishing, and cooking on the camp fire,  she was a Natural on a water ski, she didn't  "cut up"  much behind the boat, but she would kinda dance around from side to side to the music from an old am radio dad mounted in the boat, and a Loud-Speaker that he mounted on the transom. at night when we camped out at the lake, dad would tune the radio in to the Grand Ole Opry, clear channel 650 in Nashville Tennesee ... so many memories
notice the old speaker on the boat behind mom in the picture.
