Title: Year in review
Post by: 76bayflite on September 19, 2011, 08:51:36 PM
Last week I decided to retro actively make a "Captain's Log" to share this year's boating activity. Next year I think I may actually keep a log to document performance, weather, etc.

That's weird that the alignment got all screwed up after I posted it.

Wayyyyy to many "pontoons" and not enough bayflites!

J/K. I bet you got the record this year for most times on the water. Good job Sean.

Even my oldest started refering to our pontoon as the "Loser Cruiser" this summer. I've taught him well! ;D...LOL

Sean your "Captains Log" looks like mine used to back in my younger days, before the wife & kids. Last Friday was splash day for my cruiser this summer! :o Got pretty good use out of the CVX18 this summer. No point to owning more boats, I don't have time to use the two I have nearly enough! :(

Sean - Tried figuring out the alignment issue...'tabs' generally don't get interpreted very nicely by HTML renderers.

Then I messed with the 'list' feature...no luck.  If you really want it to look all purdy...probably going to need to use the 'Table' functions above...it'll look like this:

Date     Location     Vessel     Comment
5-8Ann lakeAlumacrafttest run

I've added that into your original post so you can see the 'code' to do it.  Basically, you're adding a table, then adding a 'row', and then within each row, added 4 columns.  The HTML engine that SMF (simple machines forum) has will auto space & align the cells.  I also added dummy columns between the 'real' columns to add a little more space between the columns.  The alignment is pretty tight without them.

Too much info?  Probably...but thought it might help...and yes, its a pain.

Good for you Sean for all the trips.

Years ago a tax credit was available to refund Federal gas taxes for boat use (non-highway use). Used to take it every year.

Yup at least you spent a fair amount of time on the water which is more then I can say. 4 times out and one without my boat.
