Title: WTB CV23 JET DRIVE ONLY
Post by: kert0307 on September 17, 2012, 01:56:45 PM
I'm looking for my next project. I would like to find a project cv23 jet drives only. Reasons for the jet, I boat in some lakes/rivers with rock surprises, I've always wanted one, and it will more than likely be Ford powered  ;D

I've sent messages to anyone selling them on classicglastron.com including some a little over a year old. If you know of any others let me know. If I find one for a good price I won't have to sell the CVX16 V8 either, so that will be a plus also.

Curt - There was a total project boat in Cedar Rapids this summer.  User 'ICE' looked at it and would have contact info.  Don't know if it was a Jet or not though.

This one has been for sale here for a while. Looks like he just pulled the motor. It's pretty heavily customized but I am not sure what type of "project" you are looking for. It's been for sale forever so I bet you could get it cheap.

Ya, I saw that one. I do like the idea of the "L" shaped bench in there and will probably copy it if I do have to do interior work. I think the diamond plate might get a little annoying on sunny days though. Also I can't get the guy to send me pictures inside the cuddy. he did send me some more of the interior and exterior though. Has anyone seen this boat in person?

There is also a 460 jet drive(motor and drive) for sale up in mn for $1500

He was selling that boat this spring for $12k if I remember correctly.

Last he had it with the engine still in it for $8K. Then he pulled the motor and is selling it without it for $3K.

So has anyone actually seen the one for sale with no engine before? It's a good price if the "restoration" was done well, but I'm kind of hesitant to buy someone else's "fixes" also the top was painted and the bottom is still the original gel. The worst part for me is the missing windshield, I know it won't be easy or cheap to track one down...

Erik had one made for his just this year, or last year?  I remember him saying that at the Iowa meet.

Kert

I do not think that the engine and jet for sale in mn is anything to look at.

The guy selling it has a history maybe Scott E will send you his rape sheet.

I'm pretty sure he wasn't talking about your post, he was talking about the motor and drive only for sale I was talking talking about earlier.

I did have some interest in that motor in Fairmount, but when I did a little checking (google) on the guy, I found a history of him scamming people on engines via Ebay.  So I moved on.  Also, at the time of my interest there was not a picture of it sitting in the backyard, left for dead.

Jim's comment above about the guy in FL, that refers to the clown I originally bought my CVX20 from.  He would be on the top of my 'don't EVER  buy anything from him again' list.  I could write a book on that guy and what a prick he was, but I prefer to keep my post's on this forum on the positive side.  8)

Ok, thanks. The guy down in Florida doesn't happen to have a CV23 jet for sale now as well does he? There are two CV23 Jet project boats in Florida for sale right now that I may check out if they are still for sale in November because I will more than likely be down there for work.  I can probably convince the boss to let me drive down so I could pull a boat back also.

If you are dealing with a guy named Brad, last name starts with an S (and it rhymes with leopard), and he lives on a small lake in central FL, then I would say 'buyer beware' with that clown.  Verify everything, and then double check what you verified.  My advise to anybody on a long distance purchase is to find somebody in the area (if possible) to go check something out for you, before you commit any money to anything.  My .02

I don't think I've ever seen that back to back seating in a CV23 before.

I assumed that was an after market adjustment, however its kind of nice.

Yea, those are aftermarket seats. Although the Jets did come with a different seating arrangement then the stern drive from Glastron.

That's about as far south in OK as you can get.  TX is on the other side of the lake.  Only one pic and I couldn't make out any reg numbers with my I-Phone.  That is pretty pricey.

I don't see any registration on the boat.

I found this one in Idaho

http://twinfalls.craigslist.org/boa/3235150925.html (http://twinfalls.craigslist.org/boa/3235150925.html)

I do kind of like that seating, seem like there is a lot more room in it than the "factory" set up.

I think my best bet right now is that "custom" one up in MN with no motor in it. Now I just need to find some time to swing up, look at it, and convince my dad to let me store it in one of his buildings over the winter.

And find something like this minus the scoop to put in it...

or this after I make sure it will live in a boat

I saw that one, I also remember seeing it the last time it was for sale... I figured it would cost me about a grand in diesel and a week of vacation for me to drive there and pull it back lol.
