Title: WANTED: HEAD and MANIFOLD for mercruiser 140HP. 3L 181CUB.IN

Hello All, I am looking for a cylinder head and manifold for my 1978 cvx 16 ss. I plan to restore this boat that was left in the cold.
It's a 140 hp. 3L 181 cub. in. mercruiser. motor serial # 5372705 head casting # 3937748.
I'm new to the message board and would appreciate any help you members can offer.

From experience with these motors you probably have a cracked block also if the head and manifold are both cracked. Where are you located?

Oh, and welcome to the group! There is also a complete 140 listed on the forums also.

Your absolutely right, I did have a cracked block but managed to fix it. The head and manifold sadly are beyond repair. I am located in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I do have a friend in Montana that would be a somewhat reasonable location to have U.S. parts shipped to. I did see the posting of the complete motor, but seller says he has not herd it run. I actually contacted him and he would prefer to sell as a complete. this would make things too expensive to ship.  I guess I'm still searching, thanks very much for your feedback,much appreciated.

You might try eBay, there are a few on there once in a while

Thanks folks, I did manage to find a manifold on e-bay. Still looking for the 140hp. cylinder head.
