Title: Composite Transom, stringers, floor, etc
Post by: fireman24mn on January 08, 2019, 10:24:33 AM
On my CV-16 rebuild I am planning on doing everything out of composite. Many of you have probably heard of Coosa board. However it gets expensive and shipping is usually hard to do and expensive.

I have found a local company (North Dakota) that also makes the same product. You can't buy small quantities from them you have to get it threw a supplier (Express Composites).

However I talked to a salesman at the company and they have 2nd's/ blemish products that you can buy from them. Most are 1 or 2 sheets.  They are $50 + tax per sheet and most are 4x8 sheets. Sizes are from .25 up to 1 inch thick with multiple different options in between. 3 of us so far are going to buy some of them. That way we can make one trip. You can only pick them up on Friday mornings.

If any one else would like to buy some send me a PM. However you would need to pay up front before we pick them up and you would need to pick them up with in one week from when we get them. Currently we are planning the trip up there on Jan 18th and they would be available to pick up late afternoon Jan 20th. They would need to be picked up from us by Jan 27th, unless you make special arrangement with one of us.

Let me know if any one is interested.

In looking around the internet it looks like the sheets are $200- 600 each depending on thickness you get.
