Ross - I've always gravitated towards GM vehicles. I've owned a Buick, Oldsmobile, Pontiac, Chevrolet & GMC. And a Toyota PU.

My dad likes those Dodge Minivans now. His dad used to own a Ford garage/dealership so he drove them for most of his life. Bought a new '65 Ford Mustang coupe w/289 4sp, factory 4barrel and dual exhaust. 8) Also had a '65 Mustang convertable that he restored and then sold after he bought his new '75 Ford van. Can you believe he sold that and kept his '68 Ford XL ??? Dad what were you thinking???...LOL

Yeah back on topic, Chris when are you going to post pictures of that boat you bought? Another question is were all of the CV16 V8's the built with the Volvo/Glastron power packages ? I think they were.

I will not be picking it up till I get back from the MN meet.  I  have talked to him a few times and was originally going to only buy the boat from him as he wanted to keep the engine and trailer. I did not really mind not having the engine as I wanted to repower it with a Mercruiser anyhow.  After looking around for a week I came to realize I was not going to be able to get another worth while trailer for  even what he is asking for the entire package I have now told him I want to take the whole package.  Boat, engine, drive and trailer.  I was primarily interested in the hull because it is a V8 hull with the engine cover intact.  But now I think I may be able to use the same 302 engine with a Mercruiser 888 engine and drive package which will have the trim/tilt that I want. The boat is disassembled due to needing a floor replacement. I suspect it will need a transom and stringers too but have not even layed eyes on it yet let alone probed the stringers or transom.  It's a project.  But it is a CV-16ssV8!

I like the color! My understanding is that those Volvo drives don't trim which is major bummer from a performance standpoint. So putting a MerCruiser drive in it would make a lot of sense. Plan on redoing the transom as the cut-out looks bigger than what a MerCruiser drive would use.

Chris
As nice as it would be, its sounds like a fairly big project. You have room and time to work on that baby? It would be cool to have a 16/v8 for sure. OK yup, thats a good enough reason right there. Never mind..... :o
