frosty,

yah, I keep my eyes open for "donor" boats all the time. seems to be a fair amount of trailers around here right now at decent prices, maybe not so many there. craigslist is a good source for me. and a jet drive cruiser in need of resto may come up cheap as a donor, never know. they do pop up every few weeks. I'm actually heading about 3 hours south this week for a donor boat (trailer, motor, outdrive) for the Scimitar, so I know all about the parts search!  ;D  I went with the trailer under this one for the Intimidator so that I could pass this one along, rather than buying just a trailer. But, with the donor boat coming... it's gettin a little crowded around here!  ;)

I know I could look at the brochures but off hand, does anyone know what the seating is like in these? I believe the outboards have jump seats in the rear. What about the fronts? Back to back I think?

Ah yes, Not a whole lotta leg room in those rear facing seats but who cares. I can not think of a better reason to give it up then have it taken by a motor!

Agreed!

I do have the engine cover and center console with this one. No seats though. I wanted to present it here first to my favorite group of guys (and gals) and I guess I'm gonna also post it on cgoa main site to try to find it a new home. With the other donor boat coming tomorrow I REALLY need to make some room! Let me know if anyone wants it, or knows of anyone. I'd like to see this one as a project that we all get to follow along with.

Hey, Wetrocks I'm going to have to bow out of this project. I really hate too but my wife say's I'd have to start living in the garage if I brought it home. They just don't understand what is important.    Thanks anyway.   frosty

I would really like to have a CV-19, love the colors of this one as well, and its awesome Steve how you've saved it and are trying to pass it on.

I would have to shed a CVZ or move to a new house (which is likely next year)...but this could be a fun boat.

it's generating a little interest over on cgoa main, some questions, etc., no takers yet.

had a disappointing day today, drove 8 hours round trip going for a donor boat for the Scimitar, was supposed to be my trailer, motor and outdrive. trailer was fair (advertised as excellent) and it was an OMC outdrive (advertised as Merc Alpha 1). I kept my cool (barely) and came home empty handed. I guess ya can't win 'em all, right? maybe I'll refer to Jerry's post about calmness and "finish something I started"  ;)

the hunt continues for me, but unfortunately still have to move this CV-19. it looks so at-home with all the other Carlsons...

How did they mistake an OMC for a Mercrusier? WT? Bummer. Well, hope you enjoyed the drive. :o

well honestly, it was extremely tough to stay cool... a few years ago I may have left that place in cuffs, but I realize that won't help my cause, and as I've heard, no matter how hard ya beat 'em, ya can't fix stupid! lesson learned is, ask for pics of the outdrive before driving 4 hours.

and yeah, I guess "OMC" written plainly on the side wasn't any indication to them, but yes, the little lady and I did have a nice trip in spite of it all.

and Doran, I believe his ignorance exceeded his desperation to unload it... after discovering it was OMC, I figured there was still a trailer there that I could use (I'd have to unload the junk on top of it) so I made him an offensive offer and he declined, but very respectfully, as I think he knew he was on thin ice.

I've done pretty well picking up some nice pieces over the last few years, even though I've had to travel alot. so, I guess the universe had to balance eventually, right? there will be more, and I'll get the Scimitar done... hopefully with no assault charges!!!!

thanks for the comments guys, it's appreciated.

Hotwired, I like the way you think. If Dr. Phil ever gave advice like that, I might consider watching his show.

sorry I got a little off topic here with my rant. just to update everyone, I have a potential buyer fairly local who currently owns two CVX-16's, so if it goes home with him, it will be appreciated I believe. we'll see if it pans out... nothing definate yet.

heh, heh... .44 mag... that's good stuff!  ;D

just another update, the potential buyer is not going to be able to take it, so, it remains here, taunting me!

pretty sure this won't make a difference to most on this forum, as alot of you are still too far for it to matter, but, a few donor boats have become available with trailers, so the trailer under this one would likely be available to stay with it. I'm thinking $350 additional for the trailer, another steal just like the hull, especially considering the condition of it, but if it makes more room to bring in a donor with a trailer, then I would probably let it go for that.

I was really hoping this CV-19 woulda got snatched up quick... honestly, the more I look at it, the more I think, ya know...

they are such beautiful boats, but I guess I'm biased, because it's a Carlson, and I don't think there's one that I don't like. my problem is (besides having WAY too many other projects) the little lady has "Carlson's disease" just like me, and while she is usually the voice of reason, now she is walking by it saying to herself, ya know...

I would say that we should start our own 12 step program for this addiction, but I have a feeling that the first 11 steps would be buying Glastrons. it does seem like there is a good support group out there in MN!  ;)

My name is Wex, and I'm a Glastroholic...
