Very cool. The lit Carlson logo is sweet.
Now, I am curious as to how that was done. Obviously, a new panel was fit to cover the holes but in order for the logo to be lit from the rear, I would assume there are some holes? No that cant be right. The panel is too thin. Light has to get through. I guess it depends on how the logo was applied. Is it painted on the suface? Routed from the back? ??? Hmmmm

Here's some  Kool Stuff  to for motor cover, it's what they use in trunks of cars, it's pretty thin stuff, will stretch into dips and corners and keep that form, then it's easy to stick it in place, I use the 3M 99 spray adhesive.

My buddy Mike came over today and brought a broke up instrument panel off his CV-16, that he will be bringing to Red Wing in August, we got it stuck back together and will be popping a dup off it for his boat.

got the first layer of glass on Barbs panel, will finish it out for the duplicate today, the Faria gauges, speedo and tach, are a bout 1/4 "  larger diameter than the original.  I will modify the dup to fit the new gauges, make a mold  for Frankie to vacumn form the new panel, out of the same material as the original.

Hopefully snafoo solved with the instrument dash panel.  OleRed made a mold of the original, we took it to Frankie at Eaton Quade plastics, he tweaked it a little bit, ran it through his shrinking forming machine and we are somewhat close to having the dash panel modified to fit the larger newer intruments.

Thanks Steve, OleRed knows all this stuff.  I'm just the bank.  If and when you need replacement vents T tops etc.... for your scimitar project these guys can probably fix you up.  Now that they have the mold for the CVX dash that panel that can be had also. OleRed and I have made it ea$ier for those that want it now because of the cost of the mold.  These dash mods have not been cheap, but the difference in appearance will be worth it to me.

That dash will help alot of people I'm sure. And I know what you mean about puting in the extra effort for the little details, I'm the same way!

I will be ordering new t-tops and winglets from your friends down there, and I also already put in an order with OleRed's Manufacturing for a set of solid fiberglass t-tops like he is making for himself, and will paint them to match the boat when I paint it, then I will be able to switch them out and run either or. I've got a dash mod of my own coming up as well, but I haven't made a final decision on which material I'm using.

Hope yours works out for ya without too much fiddling!

It would be great if you guy's could post cost, contact info, etc. for these dash panels under the "the Vendor Repair & Resources" section of the forum when you get a chance. Nice work! ;)

Barb - do you happen to know the height of your dash panel?  I'm thinking its to narrow for Goldie:

Doran,
I can tell you only because I have the CVZ and the Intimidator here, it's a different set-up.

While I was dealing with the instrument panel and wiring harnesses OleRed was installing these.  Yep the postman loves me, new chrome bilge exhaust vents.
