Trim tab ID
« on: January 15, 2011, 11:34:53 AM »
Anyone know how I can find the part number of the trim tab I need for my motor? I know I could just go to a dealer and get one but I am looking on ebay and most list part numbers and not necessarily what year they fit.
My old one is napping on the bottom of the Mississippi somewhere near Red Wing. :(

Ross, I believe the stock part number is 31640, but you might want to buy a setback trim tab in case you buy a high rake stainless steel prop to clear the blades. In that case, the part number is 822777, and one is on e-bay now for $9.55 with shipping. I would call a local Mercury dealer and review with him your Mercury year and horsepower to confirm that the numbers above are correct.

Thanks David
I see many 31640's with various letters at the end, so yeah I should probably call.

Boy this can get frustrating real fast. On an ebay auction, 2 sites were suggested for checking parts fitment and NEITHER one list anything about my motor based on my serial number. I'll have to stop at a dealer. >:(
