Thanks guys, the year and a half + the project took seems insignificant now. I tried putting 50 lbs of sand in the bow this time, really helped the "ride" and allowed more trim. (Still running the 12 3/4 x 21P SST prop) I "chickened out" at 52 mph again, guess the extra trim was just getting the added weight up out of the water. Still starts the chine walk at anything above that, I'm thinking Santa needs to bring me a new helm (currently running a "used" one I got with the project) and I have some play in the swivel bushings on the motor to correct as well.
I cut the seat bases down another 1 1/8" this morning, I think that may do it. That's about as far down as I can go, I'm on the top of the frames now at just over 3" off the floor. About 1 or 2" more windshield would be perfect, but the one on there now will have to do. (I don't think the framework would allow the change anyway?)
That was Lake Jackson, about 15 minutes from my house. Very little boat traffic this time of year, slight chop, DNR (boat cops) all watching the hunters. It was about 70* yesterday, supposed to be in the mid thirties here tomorrow morning!
