Return From Rathbun
« on: June 09, 2013, 11:41:54 PM »
We got back home a couple hours ago, got the boat parked and the van un-loaded, and Wow .. 97 emails to read and a bunch of phone calls, some from the group, so, if I don't get responded in the next couple days just try again.
We Had GREAT time and Rathbun, and to start with, thank All of you guy's for taking such good care of me and the Fox, first time I've ever been waited on like that out in the public ...  lol
The bisquits and gravy breakfast was supurb, the briskit dinner was as well, and the fellowship was fantastic. I felt kinda embarassed taking the trophy, I thought there were a couple other boats there that were more worthy, but they can't have in now, it's done made it's home on  my desk in the front room.
We took a Slight little detour on the way home, we went back to Centerville, then south a while, spent the night somewhere near the lake of the Ozarks, imagine that ?
Next morning we drve through the mountians, across a dam that I forgot the name of, then wound around to Captian Ron's place, we were going to put the boat in there but the Rain set in, canceled  that idea, so we found our way on down to Lebonen Mo, took I-44  on home to Oklahoma City, a stop at the casino for the Fox didn't pay off, so I quess she will keep her job a little longer.
The little van made the 1200 mile round trip with no problems, averaged 10.2 mpg
We got a Ton of pic's and vid's, will start to work on them tomorrow.
Had a Great Time up there
Thanks again to all of you that were there.

It was great to you both again Red & Georgia.   I'm glad to hear that the Trans Van treated you well!

Glad you and Georgia made the side trip and arrived home safely!  That was probably Bagnell Dam, we were over there about 3 weeks ago.  It's a skinny little booger to meet another vehicle on isn't it?

Yes,  that was it Barb,  I thought we made a wrong turn. it didn't look like there was room to pass an on-comming car, but there was, I don't think I scraped anybody.
I'm going to work on our pic's and vid's this morning, try to take it easy today, stay off my feet, we are both kinda slow getting around this morning.
I brought my "stick" home, think I'm going to scrape it down and polish it up some, might paint it up kinda like one of those "talking sticks" the wise old indians bring to a camp fire.

Red you do plenty of talking without a stick.  I can't imagine you needing a "talking stick'.  LOL!  Hope Georgia has the day off today to rest up a bit before having to go back to work.

You guys crack me up.  That stick worked out great ... I say polish it up and keep it around.
