Shifter control
« on: August 22, 2013, 09:19:07 AM »
I currently have a morse shifter in my boat (CVX18) and I would like to switch it over to a mercury style shifter.

Does anybody know if i would have to change out both the shifting and throttle cables?

Or will they work with the current setup I have?

I believe they make adapters.
Certainly, when I put the Teleflex controls in my boat I did not change out the mercury cables - the control kit came with instructions and adapters to make whatever cables I had fit with the controls ...
Hard to imagine they wouldn't have the reverse available in adapters for "mismatched" cables to fit with OEM controls.

Jeff if you post a picture I could tell you if your shift/ throttle cables match what's in my boat. I suspect you'll be OK but you never know. Or just call me.
