Ha... the Timmi
http://s19.photobucket.com/user/shortyemcee/library/Intimidator?sort=3&page=1Certainly were some corners cut due to money, but not in regards to anything structural or mechanical... just the cosmetic stuff
Ok, total basket case when I picked it up - in fact, EMS (New here, with the Bronze CV16SS) went with to pick it up
A large tree branch fell across the bow and cracked it... flake was faded beyond repair in SOME areas.
I did the floor in MTKA Jims shop
Thanks Jim!
When it came time to deal with the gel, I bought matched flake - I sent a sample in to the company that made it for Glastron back then, and they matched it - I was going to re flake it myself (I've done a lot of automotive painting) but I chickened out and took it to White Bear Boat Works
(By the way, they are also responsible for the crack underneath... ground out and filled with filler - no mat - and it opened up, so I had to grind out a ton of material and layer biaxial and re-gel... but, I nailed the gel match... felt proud of that one)
Every time he sanded what he applied, he oversanded and hit the flake. It looked terrible. So, as a last ditch effort to make her look 'ok' I paid a buddy to do the flames as a cover up
The more bare location is where the decal of the knight was gonna go.... unfortunately I never had it made
I layered a broken windshield with blue tinted fiberglass matt/resin just to get by.... 68.1 MPH without a screen SUCKS! lol
There were corners cut due to $... like a used interior (THANKS ANDY!) It was actually in decent shape.
Also the gel.... I wish I would have just reshot it myself... I could have and I bet it woulda turned out pro ... I'm a good painter... I was just afraid that I might mess it up and burn $1000 in materials....
The makeshift windshield.... blah blah blah
I agree if that boat was resprayed, and the interior re-upholstered, that is one sick boat.....
Hopefully some day I'll have a shot at another
