There were questions about the "NO WAKE" and "SLOW" zones leading to T.I's docks ...
The area in RED is a "SLOW" zone and the BLUE is a "NO WAKE" zone.
Shawn said he has seen people water skiing back there ... So not sure what slow means to them ?

To the right of picture is the sand bar / cove we stop at if you have gone north through the lock ...

One of the BIGGEST questions is " Where do we go on our Sat. run ? " ...
There are three options ...

We could run up to Kinni or even Hudson sand bars, no locks but lot of BIG boat traffic ...
Or ...
We could call the Red Wing lock and see if they know if any barge traffic is coming that day, maybe they know 12 to 24 hours ahead of time ?   Maybe not  ...
We could get to our favorite beach on Pepin if there's no barge traffic all day.
Or ...
We could call the Hasting lock and see how that looks ...
A run up to the Ford dam is awesome and we could stop at the "Dog park" beach.
Could even go up the MN. river ...

50 Glastron / Carlson's in a lock would make for a GREAT picture !

Jason:
I think this really is going to be a great year for the meet. It really is the best possible place. NO TRAINS! Plenty of room, our own beach, no current slamming boats into docks, everyone in one location (tent, RV's, boat campers, and hotel guests).

I am really excited about this year and hope for a record setting turn out!

Thanks everyone for making this happen.....Especially Gregg!

Hyperacme:
Years ago we (Jim, Sean, Amie & myself, might have been others) went there for lunch and put in at a slip.
They were wide and long, easily fit two boat side by side.
I remember a very strong current ... but it might have been early in the spring with high water levels ...
Joe and Shawn said there was no current and easy to launch and retrieve boats.
Summer also said there was no current by launch ...

Another question is can we pick our slip location ?
Near launch or by gas dock and beach / camp sites ...
Also could a day tripper park in a slip for an hour or two, before Sat. run up or down river ?

No need to worry about fire wood this year ... They have it ... for Free !
There is a Pizza place in the bowling lanes that has very good pizza, not sure about delivery yet ...

In 2008 (and maybe a year or two after) the Stingray boat owners group held there meet at T.I.
They used the wooded camp site and rented a large open sided tent for a gathering spot / sun shade / in case of rain.
Summer thought it was about $100 a day or less, it was rented from an outside vendor, not T.I.
Just a thought ... I know members have many small open sided tents ...

I did some searches for the Stingray groups web site or something about there meet ... Found nothing !
Stingrays web site has a owners area, but you need to join and put in your hull ID number ... I passed ...

I think our main goal of "Need more room to camp" has been achieved ...
Another goal was to have them do the reservations for camping, slips, RV's ... Hotel is still up to use ...
Not a big concern to members, BUT a huge load off Doran and myself !

Now we have to think about Sat. group dinner ... LOL
