decal removal tool
« on: April 02, 2016, 10:59:00 AM »
Hey all,  I am going to be replacing the V179 decal on the back of Phoenix and was wondering if there is a rotary tool that would make quick work of it other than peeling it off with a razor.

maybe something like this?

Eastwood has one for $15 that works. I just started removing the side decals on a '96 GS ... Very large area. and in this case will take 2 wheels. For your application should be no problem with one. The product is like a big gum eraser in the form of a wheel and leaves behind eraser dust.
When in doubt ... Rip it out !!

we use them wheels at work.they work great at removing decals and last a long time.no damage to finish there like a big eraser.we strip decals off tractor/trailers and they work fast.keep wheel vertical using narrow part of wheel.worth the money.

The 3M stripe remover is fantastic, I have used them for years and I have a couple in the shop at all times.

Why would you want to remove the decal? ;-) ;-) ;-) Can't wait to see the result.

The 3M one's are superior to the cheaper ones. The cheaper one will sometimes smear the decals. With old decals sometimes the heat gun method will leave behind the glue residue or the decal will come off in little chunks at a time.
I think this has become an addiction.
