I am looking to replace the LU on the 115. The LU on my 150 is correct for that motor and set up by a 30+ year Merc tech. I'm not taking that one off!!!

The 85 hp will work .. If it's been sitting a while have it pressure tested first, to make sure seals are good ...
I have a Lazer II 22 pitch you can try.

That's a 50-51 mph boat with a 135 w/1.78 gears.  We had one.  It ran 52 (speedo) @ 5100 with a 23 no cup 2 blade bronze.  And about 50 with a 3 bronze 21.  Putting in 2.3 gears might be disappointing.  With a cup 22 you might get 47.7 @ 10% running 5600 according to the prop calculator.  49.4 @ 5800.  That's adding 1" for the cup.  You can try it .  5800 won't hurt the Merc.  The earlier ones had a small outside strake.  Chine walked.  They modded it about 1973 to about 3".  Check it out.  72 was the first.  Built til 76 according to Iboats.

Mine is a '75. I have never had anything fast enough to be chine walking. Doesn't look like fun!

Old Walt on the national Glaston site said one did not have chine walk until 60 MPH. Anything under 60 MPH was loose steering, bad motor mounts, or improperly balanced boat.

Above 50 these things start rockin an a rollin , my best was 54 in my 72 with a 87 merc 115 , the chine walking was getting worse the faster i went and was quite unnerving . Still a really fun boat and a real head turner .

The 72 had the narrow outside strake.  I think the 73 was modded to prevent the chine walk.  The old 115 probably won't have that problem.  Anyone else check/measure yours to see if I'm right.  They also had a steeper V hull  That's why I opted for the CVX.

OK ... Thought I had seen it before ...

Very negotiable since I have not been using the boat much over the last two years and would like the garage space back. This boat gets attention whenever it's on the water!

For Sale: Classic 1975 Glastron GT 160 in medium blue. In decent shape for it's age. The boat is powered by a 1978 Mercury I6 "Tower of Power" that was rebuilt roughly 8 years ago. The carbs were rebuilt around 2 years ago. The fuel pumps, wires, plugs, etc were all replaced in the last few years as well. The boat has power tilt and trim and with a substantial 1/4" thick stainless steel transom plate. The windshield and aluminum trim is in great shape and was buffed out a few years ago. I had some electrical issues inside the engine cowling so 90% of the engine wiring harness has been replaced. The tilt trailer is in great shape and has some new poly rollers. It has a newer winch, wiring, and lights. The tires, bearings and bearing buddies were replaced a few years ago and are in great shape. The floor and front seats were replaced at some point and are serviceable as-is. It has a rear engine support strut and transom straps for trailering as well as a new cover last fall (2015). It also has an older stereo with CD player, air horns, etc. I replaced the fixed antenna that was on the boat when I bought it with a power antenna so it can be lowered under the boat cover. I have two propellers for the lower unit.
I have reproduction graphics for the side "football" emblems and a reproduction sticker for the round chrome GT 160 emblem on the deck that I have not installed yet. Please see pics for detailed condition.

 Areas that need attention:
The interior is in decent shape, but the rear flip-up seat retains it's original upholstery which is a bit faded, dry, shrunk and in need of help.
The transom does have some soft spots on the inside as is typical on boats of this vintage.
The boat was stored inside for the last 10 years except for the winter of 2014 when it was parked under a cover in the yard. I accidently left the engine tilted up and water froze inside the exhaust outlet leading to a crack in the exhaust output exit near the propeller. I am currently looking into replacing the lower unit with a good used lower unit, but will negotiate on price if you are interested in fixing it yourself. It is possible that a good welder could repair it since there is no fluid leakage.

Fwiw $250's a fair price for a good gearcase of that vintage.
