CVX20 Steering Wheel
« on: April 16, 2016, 11:04:37 AM »
Looking for a replacement steering wheel for my CVX-20 like the one in this picture. The plastic faux wood on mine is cracked and pieces are falling off of it. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks, Mark

I may have one at home mark. I have a memorial service to go to this afternoon. I will try to get a picture tonight.

Brandon, Cool... I've not seen one like that before. I've seen the cut through slots, and the flat one like mine, this is unique.  What did it come off of originally?  Faux wood itself looks to be in good condition and all intact... nice.  Center cap seems a bit lighter in color possibly, but I think I could use the center cap I have?  Sure you don't need it for your restore? Let me know what you you want for it.  Sent you a PM with my contact info.  Ultimately would like to find an exact match if someone has one, but this would give me a nice look wheel to use and could return it if I ever did find that needle in the haystack!

Thanks, Mark

Big thanks to Brandon!

Purchased this wheel from him as a replacement on my CVX20, solid condition, a bit faded though. I could tell the original color of the two wheels were the same comparing the back of the center caps. Decided to try and dye the plastic/faux wood to try and get closer to original color... didn't know if this was going to work, but happy with the result. Used RIT dyemore synthetic "chocolate brown". Took several times to get to color I wanted. I need to put a couple more coats of wax on it to help seal and give it a nice finish.
