My best guess on CV16 history ... Feel free to add or correct ...
Late 1968 - Early 1969

Some where in 1970 ...
The ad states "No Options".
Navigation lights are on corners by wind shield.
Cleats are half way up deck.
Nothing about color, but Carlson had Apricot/Blue/Marigold for options.
Dates on two articles 1970, boat test has same Nav. light/cleat location.

1971 CV16 ...
Sand with Apricot or Green ... Same year CV19 color is listed as "Lakewood Avocado"
Foot note in brochure " On Carlson boats, lights, windshield and padded dash are optional "
Early CV had hull/decks and rub rail joined with rivet's until 1974.
Can't find an exact date for the start of operations at the Anaheim factory.
There is a picture of it in the 1972 brochure though.
The 1970 CV16 must have been built at the Carlson Garden Grove factory
From 1971 brochure.

Pretty sure this vinyl is very close to the green used in 1971 ...

This is the Apricot used in 1971 ... The pictures of vinyl are from a 1971 and had the numbers " 69 - 6 " written in pencil on back.
Not sure if it's a part number for vinyl, that piece of vinyl or the year of the vinyl ?

1971 Hull and serial number plate ... Not sure if hull changed at all between 1970 and 1976 ?

1972 CV16 ...
Colors were Sand with Blue or Gold.
Windshield, Nav. lights and padded dash were standard.
The CV16SS was new in Sand with Gold.

1973 CV16 ...
Colors were White with Blue or Apricot.
Looks like same boat with the addition of White hull instead of sand and Apricot flake.
Guessing some Apricot CV's were built in late 1972 ...
CV16SS were White with Gold or Apricot.

Blue boat pictured below is said to be a near perfect original 1973 CV.

All 1973 and earlier CV's had the GT emblem on there deck.

Windshield on 1973 and earlier had a rubber strip around bottom and were bolted to deck with small alu. blocks on edges/corners.

1974 CV16 ...
CV16 colors were White with Green or Plum
Big changes in 74 for the outboard ...
CV16SS style windshield with bottom aluminum bar, plastic dash, hump in deck, 18 gal. fuel tank under bow, G/C sticker/ wood grain strip replaces COOL alu. G/C plate on stern and the deck emblem changed from the "GT" to the "CV'.
But didn't get the recess around gas filler that all CV16SS's have.
CV16SS colors were White with Green or Blue.
First year of the full wrap around plastic dash on the CV16SS.

1974 and latter CV deck emblem.
