We are having a hard time finding Douglas Fir.
What is the feeling about using White Fir?

Wonder if express composites would have anything up their sleeve? Maybe a three layer plascore and glass sandwich?

I would ask Express what they thought, but Doug Fir is available on line, you just might not like the price by the time it shows up at your door. Sandwich two 3/4" ply and make your own?

I would do like Mike said as well sandwich three-quarter inch plywood together with a piece of CSM in the middle.
Or you could try that pour in stuff that Doug and Ron were talking about

You can get doug fir, Menards can order it and you can get it from Youngblood lumber here in the cities.
The stuff from Youngblood is real nice and straight grain but it is actual 2"x4" would have to be planed down.

I know this is looking ahead, but will the same engine be installed, or will it receive some modifications?

David going to give her the Fast and Loud treatment, pull out the V8 and out in a V6 twin turbo.
No I think Kips putting in a 350 with a Gen II drive.

Chad my boat has a different style dash than what's in yours. I noticed last weekend it now has a big crack in it.

Not much left to tear apart sans splitting the hull & deck. Glad I let Jeff convince me cut out the kick panel, pull the gas tank and remove the rest of the floor & stringers.

Last week Menard's ad listed Douglas fir at a reasonable price. Others have used different types of composites for rebuilding the stringer. There may be some recent postings on the Glastron sites. Just read it. If I find I'll post it here.
Some good reading here, here and here:
