I suppose you could use a suspension seat in a boat, no less than using any automotive seat.  Have used many over the years in off road racing, but never in a boat.  For the most part, marine seats use additional padding.  If our boats, Glastrons, were taller I'd consider using an air ride assembly.

I think it'd be pretty easy to do. In all of these boats the seat base is up off the floor, so with modded bases or platforms, there's plenty of room to do the absorbing bases..... So, being there are universal absorbing base plates, I'm thinkin about doing it. Can keep the factory seats too. Just a little customizing/fabricating to adapt em in.... For me, in the CVX, it's a base assembly block - just have to shorten it.

Thanks, a couple nice options. The wavepro looks like it would be great but at $1200 for a pair it is out of my b.o.a.t. Budget. I'm going to check out the low pro ones at northern. they look like they might be the ones, and should fit inbetween the ped. and seat.

There not very pretty but, just what I was looking for. The low pro at northern. They hold my weight untill you hit a bump then will absorb almost 3" of travel. I had to mount them on channels because the hinges go below bottom of bracket when collapsed. Also had to cut down the passenger pedastal because the wife's feet were off the ground.. Now I just have to find a way to make them look good..

If they didn't have air suspension seats in locomotives, I doubt many engineers/conductors would have any teeth left.

Just find some vinyl that matches the seats and make a skirt that staples to the bottom of the seat.
I think this has become an addiction.
