Nice project!

The '88 had a one-year front bucket I believe. Scotties Canvas in FL has them still. They made a set for my '86 in the same fabric that my local upholsterer was using for the rest of the interior. I believe they were $800/pair shipped, which I thought was fair for all new seats. Maybe an option for you if those can't be recovered locally?

have the same seats in our CVX-16.  Problem is blowmolded plastic bottoms bolt hoes were cracked and had been patched by P.O. putting bolts all the way through and locking the sliders.  We are in middle of adding new sliders and figuring out how to strengthen the mounting.  Fill with wood or something.   Wonder what would happen if I tapped shut all the holes and poured it full of seacast?

Started removing hardware.

Did a little test area of wet sanding on the bow. Started with 1000 then 1200 final with 3000 and a buff

Really looks great.   Somehow all my projects the gel coat is absolutely destroyed.   A couple of spots on my Timi cleaned up, but overall there is so much  cracking there simply isn't anyway to restore.    Will this be a His/hers CVX-18 affair?

Just bought it to make look new again.

Needs new interior and a lot of cleaning.

Carb needs to be gone thru.

Then sell it in the spring.

Finally done wet sanding and buffing .

Grits used for wet sanding started at 1000,1250,1500 then 3000 probably could have skipped the 1250.

Buffing used 3m products Perfect-it 1,2,3

Lighting not that good

Fabricated bracket to hold hinges for engine cover , so not relying on the screws in the back of the seat to hold to hold them on.  Had a problem with 1/2 plywood not having enough holding power.

How much are the brackets going for?

Pretty nifty, nice work.   Regarding the hinge points, all my GC's have piano hinges, not the two point lift off type.  Are those the standard hinges for that 18?

No, just something for ease of access for repair work.
