Mission Sentry Boat Fenders
« on: February 06, 2018, 10:36:08 PM »
Saw these at the boat show. Thought they seemed perfect for our low sitting boats. Seems like every time i go to dock the CV16SS it wants to go under the dock as it sits so low. Fenders are almost useless. These fenders can sit up on top or above the cleat. They are suppose to be available in March. Mission is a company based out of Minnetonka so are local.

The Reef Matts are neat too but not cheap.

Funny how when we see a new product that makes sense I always ask myself' "Why didn't I think of that?"

Those white buoy/bumpers have been around for eons, your correct, they don't work on our low profile boats.

If they came out with some vibrant colors I would buy a few.

I've been using orange life vests because they are two piece and bend around hull / deck but no good way to attach to cleat.
Saw theses' at Cabela's for a reasonable price .. Less then $15 per pad.

The fenders Jason and Gregg describe look easier to use than the standard (see below) low profile "bass boat" version. The Hull Huggers being flexible should offer better protection below the rub rail while protecting the gunwale.  The Mission fenders with their strap system may also provide adequate protection as evidenced by Doran's favorable endorsement. I need to get a boat project finished so I can do my own tests.

And...then come to the Meet John!  Was hoping you'd make it last summer!

I saw them too Jason I plan on picking up a couple I think they will work good because there is a part of the bumper that stiks up past the mounting point. Are boats are so low  its always a problem.
I think this has become an addiction.

Would have been there but Betty said she'll go to the meet when I get a boat running.. Can't say that I blame her. However we had such a good time and met such great people we will be back!

Would have loved to see you both there, but having your own boat at a boat meet is certainly understandable.    As for this thread, it seems my CVZ takes the most abuse at the dock, it just never lines up correctly.   I like the flat ones that Bas Pro and Cabala's sell, but I need to somewhat cook up a custom design that clips on the gunwale, or slides over it.   In this manner I create dock protection and a step on point for loading.  I have long rails on pretty much the entire perimeter(I think only the Z's have this?) so I have a clip point.
