Vehicle axle u-bolts
« on: June 21, 2018, 09:51:44 AM »
Like a lot of us I drive an older tow rig. After seeing the rear axle u-bolts break on a pickup at work I decided I should change the u-bolts on my 1999 GMC Yukon with 220,000 miles.

When I removed the original u-bolts I found something scary and it could have eventually been catastrophic. The u-bolts were rusted down to 1/4" from 5/8", and all but two twisted off when removing them.
