Sold the Merc 650 this afternoon
« on: September 03, 2011, 03:56:08 PM »
Got $350 cash for it. Sold it to some kid from Sarasota. Of course we spent an hour trying to get it running but it did finally fire up. Had I known it was gonna run as well as it does I would have set a higher price but oh well. I look at it this way: Now I've only got $450 into the Baja. And once I finish chopping up the V153 and swap trailers I might even recoup a couple/few hundred more. WooHoo!

In addition I sold Moms next door neighbor a boat cover that's been kicking around the shop a few years for $200. Worth considerably more being Sunbrella stitched with Tenara. But I made it for a rich guy out on Boca Grande awhile back and then he bought a new boat that came with a cover and asked me if I had any use for the old cover. I really didn't cuz all my work is custom fit but I really didn't want to say no?

It's a lil long but actually fits purty good overall. Joe's happy as a clam and so am I. All in all a good day, so far. Still plenty of time for something to screw up ...? Heh heh  Happy holiday weekend y'all!

Thanks fellers. Needed a lil cash 'infusion'. Phone at the shop stopped ringing a couple weeks ago. But historically that's the way it is this time of year. Thankfully I've got a couple 'at my leisure' jobs stored up. In all honesty we've had a better summer than the last couple but it's still not enough?
