Cool Boat
« on: July 05, 2013, 06:10:41 PM »
Thought y'all might like this rig:

21' "Reaction", built on 'thunderboat row' in North Miami many moons ago. Few of these hulls exist as many were used as disposable drug running boats. They were cheap & fast.

Guy's done a total resto. Lowered the floor 4", added a pad. All composite & carbon fiber. Said he took 400 lbs outa the hull and added 30.

250 HO Etec, 4 blade 28"(?!) prop, 12" backset Bobs Machine jackplate, Allison cav plate thingy (notice it's cut aft so's he can still throw a rooster tail). Still dialing it in but claims to've run 78. Yikes!

Oh and to 'top' it off a lovely bimini. (Advised him to lower it if'n he planned on doing 78 ...)

Good look'n  ride. At first when I saw the bimini I thought it was your Ranger. :D
Good work on the top.

Thanks GJ. Don't look too close at the top. That was 'pre' squaring it up & really tightening the straps. Makes those lil wrinkles disappear.

That top design spent alotta time in Creative Canvas's top secret 'Skank Works' R&D facility btw.

It's mounted on slide rails inboard the gunnel. Top's 7' long, slides fore'n aft 2'. In the storage position it's supported by a pair of straps inboard the transom.

Worked out well. He's happy as a clam, and was willing to pay a lil extra. Which in turn makes me very happy ...

Wish y'all were a lil closer. I got lotsa ideas fer yer boats.
