New Car !
« on: May 20, 2017, 10:09:34 PM »
Got a new car ...
1999 Toyota Corolla, Auto, Air, AM/FM/Cassette, 91,650 miles.
My Mom sold it to Sara before she passed way, two years ago.
Sara and Ben got a new Ford Escape and sold it to me for $1500.

To me ... Coolest car I've ever owned !

Awesome!

I've always driven older vehicles too.

1997 Range Rover
As for reliability, I'd suggest the Toyota; enough said.  :)

Congratulations Gregg. I think of the slogan of the Geo Prism (same as the Toyota Corolla) back in those days in their new car literature "for people who have better places to spend their money."  - Glastron boats?

Those Corolla's are good cars. My 1983 Corolla SR5 Lift back manual transmission was peppy, quiet, and had an EPA rating of 28/41, and I got 34 MPG overall. Sold it at 195,000 miles, and it went 265,000 miles. The car before the Corolla was a fake American economy car that was slow and got horrible gas mileage and I was fixing rattles every weekend. Difference between that and the Corolla was night and day.

Should last you 150,000 miles, which works out to 1 cent a mile on the purchase price.

Toyota has a museum in California that would be interesting to visit.

Nice "new" car!! Seen so many car posts, I too just got a "new" car! A few weeks ago now, a 1991 Volvo 240 Wagon with 201k, $2400, 3,300 lbs towing (probably won't though) and heated seats :P. The first picture is before I cleaned it up and fixed some stuff.

Those 240's are awesome! Hands down one of the most reliable cars ever made.....Maybe not most enjoyable but definitely a very solid car.

That one a manual?

Sorry for possible thread hacking. Yes! I've been wanting one for a long time. It's definitely very slow haha, nice to never be in a hurry though! A very bulletproof drivetrain. It is an automatic, manuals that don't need attention can be a tough find, but that's alright I hear the autos are very durable. It's been taking my attention away from the Glastron recently but, hopefully I'll get back to it soon.

Thread theft is pretty common here ... Not to worry ... Nice wagon !

Went all in ... 25 big ones on some dubs ...
well ... wheel covers ... got to remove them and paint wheels black now.
Found an air fresher in the glove box, so now she smells like vanilla.

High miles and rusting away ...
But paid for !

I want a Toyota truck, but don't have the $37,000 right now ... LOL
Guess I could get the stripped down one for $32,000.
