What is this?
« on: September 22, 2019, 11:35:51 AM »
Someone over on boats was asking about this boat for sale. Listed as a CVX16, doesn't look like any Glastron or Glastron Carlson to me. Thinking either a knock-off or it has been highly modified.

There one ( can't remember brand name ) that looks just like a CVX, but stern is a little different.
That one looks very different ...

Schuster copied the Glastron, then sidewinder copied that with the Tahiti top.  There were so many manufacturers they all fed off each other.  The raised area under the windshield and the angle of the strakes tell me it's not a GC, but maybe a Canadian made copy?

The tapered splashwell, dash and the way the deck raises up to meet the windshield points to it being a knockoff of some type. Too many major differences to make me think someone customized a CVX16.

Look at the deformation of the strake/hull bottom under the trailer roller in the one picture. think we have some structural rot going on there.

Looks like a sidewinder to me....  there is one very similar to that at one of the boat yards I go to.   And isn’t that just the “hook” everyone talks about?   :D

Vanguard was a Canadian licensed manufacturer of the GT-150...they made subtle changes that are in line with this boat.
