Let's get a list of stuff we'll need and who wants to bring what ...
I'll edit thread as we go ...
-
I can bring some more wood for fires.
-
We will be bringing some plastic plates silverware and napkins, slated for the Sat meal. Haven't gotten a count yet.
Also was there talk of kind of a swap meet thing? Probably better suited for another thread but when not working on the 175 or mowing grass, I've been cleaning out the shop of unwanted "stuff" , not all boat related. I'll be bringing that, some to sell, some will be free.
-
Officially the count is currently 8 people registered, but I'm sure that will increase quite a bit in the next few weeks. I'll give everyone a more accurate number the week before the meet.

I'll be sending out the 'blast email' this week, so hopefully that will spur some registrations.
-
We'll bring a dish to share for the meal.
Is there any thing else we need ?
Open to ideas ...
Ross ...
In past years wasn't there close to 100 people ?
Maggie ...
" but I'm sure that will increase quite a bit in the next few weeks. "
Hope it happens in the next few day's ...
Doran ...
It looks good ... Hope that gets every one pumped up and registering !
It's been a bad year weather wise ...
-
2 years ago was our 'peak' 140+ attendee's, and 50 (on the dot) boats.
We were down a bit last year, with 44? boats & 122 people.
-
How about a fill in spread sheet for bringing different catagories of food for the various meals, or is it going to be pot luck to keep it simple?

We're still working on the meal...well, we're = Tim & Maggie. :D
-
This is what we are thinking so far for food:
Thursday evening: order pizza
Friday: On your own for all meals
Saturday: Breakfast: Tim and I will bring donuts from the best bakery in Minnesota!
Lunch: On the river (please pack your own food)
Dinner: Potluck meal (please bring a dish to share). Tim and I will take care of the "main dish"
Sunday: Breakfast: On your own
Lunch: Treasure Island buffet!!
-
Cool!
Anyone have any thoughts about doing the movie/projector again? The flaw the first time was I didn't bring enough sound...should we do kids/glastron movie night again?
-
Doran -
Movies outside are the bomb. To the max.
-

I can come up with some sound, may not be pretty but you will here it :)
and as luck would have it i don't have too much room to haul it, cuz if i did the cops would show up ;)

Thanks Joe, I have sound, I just didn't bring it last time, but I will this time!

Maggie ...
Food plan look good ...
Do you guys think we should ask the LAW to give a speech like last year ?
Would be good for the "new to the river people" and wouldn't hurt for a refresher for the rest of us.
Any one know who Brian got last year ?
-
I have a projector and DVD player. Not High End or fancy but the kids watch movies all the time on it outside.

It was a Sheriff's dept...and yes, we'll need to pull the new folks aside and walk them through running on the river & especially the 'no wake' zones...every year someone blasts through it...including me the first year.
-
Tim is very familiar with the river, and is prepared to talk to people about what to look out for. He is planning on making a few runs right before the meet to check things out.
I will also contact "the law" to come out and talk to everyone as well!
-
So you are sure we don't need this

I connected with the Pierce County Sheriff. Bob and Margi also have a patrol boat stationed in their slips. They can give you a contact #

I have a fold-out table/chairs ...
Sara and I could man it ...
Any one else care to help out let me know ..
-
We'll need a screen for movie night!
-
a couple poles and a white sheet would probably work if no one has a screen

I'm pretty sure Bob and Margi have a little canopy tent, a table, and chairs for us to use for a welcome area, but I will double check with them. I am planning to be at the "Welcome Table" for a good chunk of the event.
-
Amber and I have a 9 x 9 canopy tent that can be used for the registration desk.
-
Can the canopy also be moved around later maybe placed by a fire, so a few people can crowd in to late at night if it is raining to drink soda and sing campfire songs.
Those that remember last year will find this funny
LOL
-
"soda and sing campfire songs."
YA RIGHT !!!
-
That was funny hearing everyone scream and run when it started down pouring. :D
-
Song's were out tune and off key ... and some of the words were kind of slurred ...
Wonder why the people in the camper next to us didn't come out and join in ?
I'll take the third shift Maggie ... 11:00 till 6:00 AM. ....... LOL
-
Nothing like a wet "Group hug" and a round of Kumbaya.

I remember most of it and have to say it was a highlight of the weekend for us. :P

There will be people in our group that would be happy to help with 'Welcome Table'.

Here is an ongoing issue that can plague the food deal. If we make something at home and bring it thursday, it will sit for almost 3 full days before being consumed. Anyone have a full size frig to bring down?LOL
-
I bring my own fridge. There might be room, if the motorhome gets fixed in time. The trany is at the rebuilder. waiting on him.
-
Tim and I will be staying at our house and not on the campground, so I can put some things in our fridge if need be!!
-
We'll be bringing a half sheet cake. (maybe 2 quarter sheet cakes)
Terry
-
Sarah and I aren't attending the meet this year as its out 10 year anniversary and will be up north, but I have a tripod 96" screen I'd be happy to send down with someone.
Just let me know.
-
OK finally dug out our leftover stuff from our party last year. We have 100 or so plastic forks and knives and we'll pick up some spoons. Not sure why we have none of them ??? ???
We have enough napkins and will pick up some additional plates so we have enough for about 100. Also have some free can coolers (koozies) too.
We have some plastic cups too.
If anyone else has more stuff please speak up soon. This is for Sat only.
We also have some sort of circus tent/canopy I picked up at a garage sale but I don't know if its all there or if I want to bring it unless needed.
-
I have a 10 x 20 canopy if anybody thinks we need it I can bring it with, I also have a smaller 8 x 8 one I may bring that For myself.
-
I have a canopy that I bought at a garage sale this spring. I'll be looking at it to see how big it is and if it looks like its all there.
Question for Maggie and Tim
In the past, coffee was provided through some connection Brian had. Are we on our own for that and if so, coffee drinkers need to speak up about whether they have a coffee maker to bring. One year I think we had 3 10 or 12 cup makers and they couldn't keep up!
I know I MUST have coffee.
-
3 ten cup pots couldn't keep up with me alone !
-

has anyone contacted the DNR ?
on this web page you can request a copy of the metro river guide, and the Mississippi river guide.
http://forum.cgoamn.com/index.php?topic=4538.0 (http://forum.cgoamn.com/index.php?topic=4538.0)
maybe we could request a stack of them for members that would like to have one.
being a newbie to boating in general, and on the river this has been an invaluable resource for us.
-
Do we know if we have a screen coming? I have the projector & stuff ready to go.
-

Doran, looks like Josh might have one borrow if someone will pick it up.

Yep, I realize that, but unless we have confirmation of a screen coming...we don't have one!

Laurie is going to check into getting some of the river guides
-
Thanks Joe ...
Maybe a few copy's so first timer can look them over around the campfire at night ...
-
Laurie is picking up river guides today, she asked for 20 of each.
-
Ross & I are bring Mr Coffee's ...
Were gonna need at least 18 more ...
LOL
-
And we'll need more coffee...and maybe filters! Not planning in supplying for 50-100 :o
-
The pot's always on in the motorhome, if it's done. They were putting the trany in today, the exhaust manifolds are on, they have to make the pipes from the manifold to the muffler, and I mean make them they are not available.
-
It must be done!
-
Found some air pot thingy's ...
-
IT'S DONE!!!!!
I don't know if I can afford to go yet we haven't picked it up yet. Stay tuned and wish me luck.
-
good luck!
-
Great!
Not so great.
-
Found some air pot thingy's ...
Those will help if we can keep them filled.
Hopefully some others will chime in with coffee makers.
Hey Gregg, maybe we should charge by the cup? lol
-
I had the transmission rebuilt, the headers removed and new exhaust manifolds installed, new pipes from the manifolds to the mufflers, the roof seams gooped to stop the leaks, and 50 gallons of gas. all for around $3,200. That's more than I paid for the thing when I bought it, but less than I expected. I'm one happy camper. See ya all Thursday.
-
Good to hear Jerry! See ya Thursday!

Good deal Jerry!

I have a 10 x 20 canopy if anybody thinks we need it I can bring it with, I also have a smaller 8 x 8 one I may bring that For myself.
Please let me know if you think having a canopy this big is important, if we don't need it then I will leave it here as I am quickly running out of room to haul stuff.
-
The camp ground has two canopies for us to use. I'm guessing they are around 8x8 or 10x10. you can bring yours is you want.
-
Joe do you have all the projector stuff. I have a projector and dvd player. But no screen.
-
I'm bringing a screen
-
OK, we have a screen, projector and sound system. One question what movies are we watching?
-
Cool, I'll pull my stuff out of the Jeep!
I have about 30 movies packed...and our club videos too.
-
Wait...who's bringing the sound system?
-

We'll be bringing one too Joe. I think its about 9x9? Never set it up. If you're getting tight on space, maybe leave the larger one at home?
We are packed to the gills too. I don't get it. One extra day and no dog kennel? I never used to put stuff in the boat but its getting full too.
-
Ross
Did you cut a hole in the top to let the smoke out?
Saturday looks like sunny 80 degrees and no rain.
-
Not yet!
