You guys ever heard of fibercraft boats? Tryin to find what hp engine to put on.

Can't find much info on it other than it went into production fizzled out after 500 or so, a decade or so later another 300 or so went into production before flop again. The company info on fibercraft is scarce on runabout skiffs, just know they closed their doors in the 70's. I want to know what hp engine this would be rated? I bought it for 100$ 3 years ago and lookin at making it my new jon boat but can't decide whether a 35hp, 50hp or a 75hp... The guy I got it from said it was a 1965 fibercraft.

It's a 16'... I've read almost everything I could find about it, which is very little.

That should easily be able to handle 75hp.

edit, looks like the one link Gregg posted shows that from 1967 to 1971 all the 16' boats were rated for 60hp.....but I wouldn't worry about having a 75 on there,

The older rounded bottom boats would only handle 50 to 60 HP.

My 58 FireFlite is rated for 60HP, but that's as high as they went in 58. I put a 75 with a Fat 50 Hood on it. No problem.
