Quotes from the boat show
« on: January 22, 2012, 10:35:31 AM »
Ok 98% of the reaction from the crowd was pure positive but as you and I know there is always a couple that you have to shake your head at.

Some of the ones that came to my old mine quickly

This by far is my favorite display

Look at those CLASSICS

MY grandpa, uncle, cousin, brother, girl friend used to have one of those.

I remember  the Glastron/Carlson was the best lookin boat back in the 70's and they still are.

Is that the real James Bond boat.

Who restored these. man there beautiful. (Nobody they are all orignal)

And the one you have to shake your head at.  My uncle had one of these Gt 150 that had a 150hp it would go 85mph. yeah right

And my last one HEY GEORGE

"That's the boat the I learned to water ski behind" (as they are pointing to one of the boats)

" I have a CV, GT, Etc how much do you think it is worth?"

"I just sold my CV, GT, ETC  wish i would of kept it how much do you think it was worth"

I think this has become an addiction.

When I was there Thursday, I was amazed at how many people were taking pictures on their phones and sending them to people.

Looks like you covered most of the quotes.

"do these boats get used?"

Yes, they are not trailer queens.

It was a good time listening to people reminisce and especially interesting talking to one guy who was a dealer when these were new. I was surprised at how much he remembered, spec wise. Lots of interest in getting on the forum, some boats forsale, one for free that I am aware of, others seeking knowledge about how to do a transom or floor. Very fun. So much so that I hardly left our booth to look at the overpriced new stuff.
