Speaking of crap in the water.......I've been fishing at the red wing dam for the last month and a half, yes by boat, no not a glastron, and one evening I hit something solid while on plane. Checked the boat, motor over at the launch, nothing noticable. Maybe just a slight bend in the skag. I guess I got lucky. Sunday night on the way back from fishing at the dam we stopped to look for what ever I hit so we could mark it. With a little help from a spot light and some gallon jugs we made the channel down to mr. sippys a lot safer. With the water being multiple feet low there ended up being an area about 75 to 100 feet of either pillons or logs sitting about 8" under the surface. We also gps'd the sight. Makes a guy wonder how many obstacles you dont see.

Another good reason to raise that thing up at least 2".
Props make poor depth finders.

Sounds like it could have been a wing dam. Was it in the main channel? The wing dams are just outside the main channel and they help to direct the current.

secondary channel going aroung the back side of the island camp ground. Actually I think there are only two or three wing dams above the no wake zone in rw and they are right up by the dam. One of those is about three feet out of the water right now. That would hurt. Those obstacles are with out a dought trees of some sort, surrounded by nine feet of water. That is what caught me off guard when I hit them. Ive grown up on the miss and count my blessings each year I dont trash something out there. Ive dinged a few things over the years but nothing a file couldnt erase. Im really not scared of wing dams. You can generally see them or at least the wave patterns near them. Dead heads, stumps, logs, trees, what ever you call them scare me. They are sometimes hard to see at higher speeds, if they are submerged, good luck.

Safe boating everyone

Awesome Jason. The sign of a true boataholic! Somehow you must have managed to not get wet. 37 mph is fine. Leave it alone. ;D

Top I got today was 37 at 5100RPM's. Running a 19' Alum prop. Can't remember what max RPM is.

Runs a little rough at idle and it took FOREVER to get it to start. Not sure if the enricher is working (i hear it clicking but not sure if it's injecting fuel). I had this problem to starting in the driveway but not as bad. I want to raise the motor up a hole or two on the transom too which should help. Definitely did not sound to be working hard at all. I think it's just a matter of fine tuning everything.
My 100 is a cold beast to start too and thats when its warm out. One thing I did discover is that I HAVE to make sure the bulb is pumped up hard. Should be an obvious thing but if I pump it up several times, crank k it and pump it some more, its much easier to start.

Is your motor like mine, with the thing that cuts out two cylinders at idle ?

Jason, I am e-mailing you the cell phone numbers of Glastron members to call in case you need help on the water today. The list is complete except for one person.

I only had maybe a 1/4 square mile of open water. I figured if I broke down the ice would keep me from floating to Prescott. Current is not strong either so I brought my trusty paddle just in case.... Not today, maybe tomorrow!
