Excellent work! How was the editing process? Is it good software?

That was nice ... enjoyed it.
Who's going to be taking film in Iowa ??

How do you modernize "Taking Film/Filming" ???  Who's going to be taking Megabytes?

Software is Cyberlink PowerDirector 10...has some pretty good reviews.

I like the software, but it froze up a lot.  Could be my laptops fault but not sure...has a 30 day free trial, so going to keep playing with it.

Editing/creating process is pretty easy, haven't figured out adding transitions yet, so expect a couple more videos.

Dan - I'm going to work on a little rig for having the camera mounted in the boat, and I'll have mine going during the meet of course!

I've got iMovie on the Mac ... have only played with it once.  It's more powerful than I have had need for so far.  I don't mind playing, but don't have video to stitch together, either.
I've also set up the tripod in the boat and mounted the camera that way ... that's how I got one of my youtube videos.  The lens stabilizer on the SLR works out pretty well, too.

We have Mac's at the house too...I guess I was looking to learn something a little more professional? I guess?  We'll see...I'm going to try Final Cut Pro here soon as well.  I'm just not the Apple fan I used to be...so not sure I want to jump in the deep end of the Apple pond again after spending years digging out...

The only reason I have to not use my Mac is AutoCAD.  Until 2012, AutoCAD was strictly a windows platform software.  The last version I bought was in 2008.  Now that they make AutoCAD for Mac, I don't have my business anymore (nor the $3,600 to buy the Mac version of the software).  My Mac handles the Adobe CS5 better than my windows machine.  My windows laptop has been a doorstop for the last year/year-and-a-half.

Windows is convenient, and less expensive in many areas.  But I've gone through 3 windows laptops in the same time that my wife has had her MacBook (and is still using).

I like the way your videos turned out.  They were easy to watch.  I say we pool some resources and get a photographer up in a helicopter to take some film during a meet.

Um...sure...that'll be cheap!

Speaking of that...for the 2009? Meet...there was someone supposedly taking photos of the run in a plane...did that ever happen?

Dan - our Mac's are older...PowerBook (on old PowerPC processor), and an old iMac.  Neither can handle any of the software that comes out today...but they both keep running!

I use Windows b/c work provides me with them, and they're usually pretty top notch specs-wise...
