Got an email from a lady wondering the value of her Timmi.
No pictures ... yet ...

What do you guys think ?

Hi- we have a glastron Carlson Intimidator 1981  with matching trailer that we would like to sell- always in fresh water, second owner- we've had it for 20 years. We'd like to get some idea of what we should ask for it. Can you help us? Sure hope so- thanks in advance- Barbara

Hi Gregg- thanks for getting back. The boat is in Norway, ME. The clear coat needs replacing. The rust/sparkle is good. Upholstery is good- a little fading on top of seats. Rugs are good. Outdrive has been rebuilt, motor is good. good compression. No stress cracks. Unfortunately,, we're stuck here in NY (Long Island) for a while- we've spent our summers in Maine for 50 years. I have pictures but not emailable. I might be able to get a friend up there to do that. We want to know whether there is a market for our beloved baby- it's an institution on the lake! We need to sell it on account of health problems.Barbara

Much like location of homes, price can vary based on the demand where it is.  Without pictures, considering running and operational, I'd put it's value in the 7-9k range.  Just my opinion, likely change with pictures.

$700.  But it is in need of a full restoration, all wood is rotten.  Engine runs, but two frost plugs blown out.  Drive works but has been in brackish water it appears.  Came with Glastron trailer, but that required $1300.00 to restore.

No ...
I explained to her that even with good pictures it would be hard to set a value.
Seeing it in person and test driving would be the only way to rule out wood rot.

Someone shot a clear over the gel?  Looks like they got a fleet in the background, or simply storing them for folks.  Stored outside, tarped, unknown floor, stringer, drive condition.  Missing windshield and finish issue. . I'd say my estimate would drop now into the 4-5k range at best.  From what I see, I'd have to inspect it fully to know otherwise.

She is looking for opinions of possible value of Timi in current condition.  Pictures tell me I'd have to inspect it in person to be fair.

I paid 4600 for mine so sure in there somewhere. But then we might want to throw in what my dad paid for his intimidator,  that will bring the value way down,  way way down.
