Title: How to start a CV23?
Post by: Lokoseena on May 23, 2020, 04:43:09 PM
Hey all,

New to boating really as I've always boated with my old man. I was wondering what these buttons where for? I'm looking to try to start it out of the water with water muffs and I'm looking for some tips on how to get it started. I was properly winterized, new oil, coolant in hoses etc.

Thanks

Those are for your tilt & trim.
If I remember right you push the button in at base of throttle handle to disengage the drive and only use the throttle.
Maybe do a " YouTube " search for starting a Mercruiser.

mercruiser starting procedure ..

Interesting video Gregg, did ya ha to find one with a "B" word in it?    ha!     Just wanted to add a couple things, both button set shown are for trim, the 3 button unit has an override to allow the lower unit to go full up for trailering.  The throttle mounted switch is much handier to use while underway, it's up button will/should be limited by the pucks on the drive.   Welcome to boating, know the rules, and be safe.
