Hey!  Good luck with the motor install!

Try to come to the meet on Saturday if you can.  Sunday is usually a wind down day.  The bigest parts of the event, and the most boats are there on Saturday.

A little more gel fade than I thought but that is sure the boat.  The interior is beautiful. I bet a bit of wet sanding or buffing and it will look fantastic. I hope he's close to Red Wing somewhere!

Looks like it cleaned up pretty nice! I did go look at that before you bought. I remember the miss at higher RPM's. Also had a strange bearing noise too but I am sure you will solve that after rebuilding the engine.

I am really happy someone who appreciates these things bought the boat. It comes with a great story too. Welcome to the group!

Plenty of money, but just another toy. I will be open for offers since my dream boat is getting a Scimtar. This boat does have a good story since some of the guys did get a chance to meet the original owner.I just want to get the boat back to it's original condition. I have a guy taking a look at the gelcoat to see what can be done. Other then that the boat is very clean and solid. If I keep the boat i will pull ouy the Berkley pump this winter and send out to be completly rebuild. This boat came with out a trailer so i will be also getting a new trailer, unless someone buys and has there own trailer.

Thanks for all the nice complements.
I am still trying to make it to the meet on Saturday for the day.

Thanks Scotty007

Thats right...no trailer. Did you borrow one?
Again, very nice! Glad to see someone rescue it, that appreciates it.
Very nice combo. 19 footer, V8 and a jet. I love it.
New motor or did you go thru the original? Thought it was a 455 or am I mistaken?

The trailer is from one of my other boats that i keep on a lift.
The motor is the original 350 I am having it rebuild. Should be on the water thursday. New pistons, rings, complete valve job on original heads. I am looking for a trailer that is in good shape.

This is for a Berkley jet drive set up
Also 350  sb

Scotty
Can you post of pic of your exhaust. I need to see it anyways but I removed all mine because of cracks but that part might be ok. I did find some online too. They didnt have everything so I didnt buy them. They wanted 250/pr
If they are good internally, the welds could be ground and repaint the things. That is what I was going to do.
Do they look anything like this?
Title: Re: 72 CV-19
Post by: scotty007 on August 14, 2010, 09:50:35 PM
Yes, they are the same. My mechanic found the port side and the guy wants $250. I am going to keep looking until the right deal comes thru. The only leak I have is on the bottom drain plug and going to install new one.

Well put in at Stillwater at 3 oclock and went to Afton and back the boat is running AWESOME. Lotsa lookers today. Going back on Sunday around 11 or so.
I am still planning on meeting you guys next Saturday. Planning on being in Red Wing at 8 am.

Thanks Scotty007
Title: Re: 72 CV-19
Post by: Rosscoe on August 15, 2010, 07:16:18 AM
Really?
The same? So do we know for certain they are OMC? I was guessing that based on the color, but...
I'll see if I can find the email/contact of the ones I found and email it to you. I beleive they were in Cal. If the riser was ALL I needed, that would have been great but I can not see buying just that part right now. Please let me know if you find a good resource. The exhaust is the main hold up for me, getting the 175 Crestflite in the water!
If I dont find something by next summer, I may slap the old crap on and see what happens. I just dont water in the cylinders of course. That is my main concern. When I looked/asked around about getting them pressure tested for internal integrity, some looked at me as if they had no clue how to go about it.

Hey Scott...
Did I see you go down the St. Croix just north of the Kinni at about 12:00 on Sunday?  I was sitting at the beach at afton st. park having lunch with some family when off in the distance I saw the distinct lines of a Glastron Carlson...  Then, once it went flying by on the far side of the river, I caught a glimpse of it in the sunlight...  It was a beautiful emerald green, and sure looked like a CV-19 or 21.  Figured it had to be this boat.

Even from the distance that I was from it, I could hear it quite nicely!  I have to say that for as much boating on the St. Croix as I have done...  I was EXTREMELY jealous that I wasn't chasing you down in my 20.  Oh well!  Next time!
