is that an old Gehl? gotta love the T-bar controls!

a machine like that is your best friend when snow flies. I've got a Polaris Scrambler 500ho 4X4 with a plow on a power winch... best investment EVER. it's an all-year toy, but I never appreciate it more than when I'm plowing and remembering the days of the shovel.

Good eye, yes it is...
Love that machine, i borrowed it from a friend to haul the busted up concrete out of my basement, it snowed...
It was all over but the crying, i brought him a check.
Its handy to have it around.

Howard brought the little Yellow Jacket back to me today ... you guy's Ain't gonna believe what he wants
done to it now,  He is moving to a residential neighborhood on a small lake in California, no wake, and they don't allow gasoline motors.  I told him I could fix that, and still keep the classic appearence of the boat, so ... I've bought a 1959 Mark 58A, pulled out the power head, bought a 14hp 6/48 dc electric motor, electronic controler, 48V contactor, fuse box, a remote speed control mech, wiring diagram, looks like I'll need Barb to figure that out, but there's room under the Mark 58 bonnet for it all to fit  (and then some)  with a simple adapter plate, and a fabricated direct drive coupler.  It will be running off 4 marine deep cycle battery's, with an on-board 4 bank charger.

That is pretty cool ...
One of my favorite trout fishing lakes is electric motors only - the conversion appears the way to go, imagine how hokey that boat would look with a MinnKota on the transom.

Hey Red, you by chance have any photos of the cradle before you put the boat on it? Would like to see your design.

Rich
I'd like to see some too. I'm going to need to do this under the Viper some day and want to keep the hulls shape when it gets split. You've built plenty of these so I'd really like to see all the support underneath if you have pics.
Thanks
Ross

I posted some pic's of the cradle here somewhere but I can't find them, and I quess I didn't save them, but here is a couple I do have.   The mainframe is kiln dried 4X4 held together with 4" angle iron welded at a true 90 degree's, and two 1/2 bolts at the ends of each 4X4, one bolt vertical and one horizontal, bonded with Loc-Tite premium polyurethane glue board to board and to the angle iron.  the 1X4 on top of the side 4X4's has holes in it where the bolt heads and washers
stick up on top od the 4X4, the 1X4 is also screwed and glued to the 4X4, and there is a 2X2 on the inside of the up-rite 2X8 that is screwed and glued to both the 1X4 and the 2X8 with 3 1/2" screws to hold the 2X8 up-rite, it's pretty strong.  The swivel wheels are "knobbies" that make it really difficult for them to turn, and they are a little light weight for the whole boat, load rating @ 300 lbs each, but thats all I could find.
