Though I've probly been served "kitty on a stick" by a few oriental joints. To the best of my knowledge I have never been fed Manatee. So I couldn't make an honest comparison ... Hear it's really good though!

Problem I have with 'em is they're really cramping my style. Despite record #s of the sobs we need more no wake zones? Wtf. I never hit one!? Nobody I know has either. Yet we now have to deal with 6 more miles of no wake "Manatee Zones" between here & Sarasota. Sarasota County has one of the lowest Manatee mortality rates in the State? It's total BS!!!

I have never, ever, hated a species so much in my life. Well, besides the humans running this show. Who btw are responsible for leading the Manatee into this mess. Myself included somewhat I s'pose. The Sea Cow used to meander his way north from the West Indies via the FL Keys. Enjoy the warm water, eat a lil seagrass, mebbe hook up with another cow. Then head back home when it got cold. This was before they discovered hot water runoff from Industrial Parks, power plants, etc. Nuke Plants are their favorite btw.

Make no mistake. The so-called FL Manatee is not a "sub-species". It's nothing more than a West Indian Manatee who's overstayed his visa ...

You would not believe some of the idiotic plans being floated down here to SAVE THE MANATEE. One plan requires the Peace River nuke plant to maintain a constant temperature in their discharge. Even if the plant is shut down for maintenence, service, etc.

My beloved Venice City Council announced recently that they were considering(read: going) to make the intracoastal from the Circus Bridge to the Venice ave bridge a "Manatee Zone". Til they got spanked by every boater in the vicinity with half a brain. For starters they don't have the authority. The intracoastal is governed by the GIWW Gulf Inland Water Way. It would be akin to the city putting up 5mph speed limit signs on the interstate. They sobered up & have since shelved this 'issue'. 'Til fall I s'pose, more transient Manatee lovers in town then?

A running joke in town is wadda we need the Circus for? All the clowns are in city hall! (For decades Venice was the winter home of the Barnum & Bailey Circus.)

Sorry for the rant but Manatee p*ss me off. No offense.

Undocumented Alien animals. What tune should I sing this ditty to? I think we're being overrun with unwanted creatures. Asian Carp, Zebra Muscles, Manatees. There must be a way of eliminating things we don't like. I don't think Manatees have a natural enemy. (except Doug)
