Title: New Member Looking to Sell my Glastron - Need Value
Post by: BrianK on April 25, 2012, 05:08:11 PM
I have a Glastron 1988 CVX 20 with a 200hp Johnson in excellent condition.

Can anybody give me any feedback or input as to what the value would be?

I appreciate any info you can send my way.

I would recommend you start your offer at $8950 and advertise internationally.  If it has been sitting you will need to have it running and cleaned up to get top price of course. That price is a bit high but a lot of times a higher price will attract the collectors.  It may not sell for that but you will be able to bargain your way though the offers. There are a lot of European collectors that love these boats as well.  You may do OK on Ebay as they do attract a very wide audience.  Beautiful old school ski boat.  Get some current pictures to put in your add and a lake test will also be in order to get top dollar.

I agree with Hotwired. Start high. Try to hit everyone you can and the best way to do that is Ebay. This is the  BEST time of the year to sell. Boats seems to hold there value well in the twin cities area as there is so much demand for boats. In my opinion $9K is high and a more realistic selling price would be around $5K. But start high and see what happens.

73mph!! I'd say it's running well! That sounds fun!

The performance is the reason I put a high price on it.  You will have to prove it though!

Thank you everybody for your input.  I will apply all your recommendations.  Planning to get it out on the water as soon as I can.  The problem is....I may just want to keep it!!

I will definately post fresh pics as soon as I get it in the water and maybe even a video.

We have a pretty good group of people in this club/group/addiction ...
I bet if you come out for a few run's with us you'll keep your CVX and never regret it !
You'll never find a new boat with half as much class and coolness (new word) as your G/C.

As soon as weather get nice we'll be out with any where from 2 to 15 boats every weekend (all most every weekend) ...

Don't sell it ... give her one more chance ... LOL
