Wanted to know if anyone had the pattern for the frame work for a CVX 18 rear seat. I have just acquired a 1980 CVX 18 California special and need to rebuild the entire rear seat. None of the original stuff is there and I could use some help measurements. I have seen some CVX 16 rebuild threads and wondered if they are the same dimensions. I really need some guidance on the side sections of the rear seat. Hope someone out there can point me in a good direction. Thanks, JT

Picture of my Cvx20 rear seat. Shows you how it goes together.
You could mock on up out of cardboard.

No measurements .. but might help ..

The 1980 CVX16SS / CVX16 & CV23 are listed as MF Persian orange and Buff with orange interior's.
Only info I have on CVX18CS is first picture below ..
You think vinyl color might have been beige ?
Beige is last two pictures.

My rookie mistake. I thought the Buff indicated the Interior color. Yes it was likely beige do you have an upholstery code for the original beige or a suggestion for what would be close to original? I want to go with pleated vs. Button back. The link on the frame build is awesome, thank you. I like the cooler insert he used. Any suggestions on that and where I could find the right size?

I don't think the cooler under rear seat was available until the 1983 model year.
Nothing in standard equipment until 1983 brochure.
I think most were lost or removed, don't think I have ever seen one for sale.

Look around under your deck for small pieces of vinyl left over, if your vinyl has been replaced.
I found a few very small pieces on mine and was able to match.
I have nothing for parts number for vinyl.
If your replacing all vinyl just pick a color you like that's close to pictures of Champagne / Beige.
If you can't find pleated in color you like .. Try here .. Ed has some done here with good results.

If you need buttons made let me know.

Looking to go pleated not button back. Thanks for the offer. Sent you PM. Wanted to see if you need how to accomplish the solid rear seat back with the curved corners vs. the button backs with the little triangular cushions on the sides

Great thread and photos!
I am guessing that the interior on my 1979 CVX-18 was redone, and the vinyl is a little lighter than the beige color Hyperacme posted on 8/22 at 12:04:02 (the 3 photos with the life jackets between the front seats).
I got a couple of vinyl samples in the mail from a seat manufacturer in Indiana, Veada: https://veada.com/ (https://veada.com/)
The sample that most closely matches my seats is labeled "Alpha Marq. Milkweed."
It does not sound like they do custom seats, but I might order the vinyl from them.
