Probably just out of Gas. My V172 did the same thing to me my first time out with it. Luckily I was within paddling distance.

If you pull the sending unit you might be able to adjust the float position to correct the issue.

Well, on my '96 Glastron 1/4 Tank = Empty...but the thing would read 'Full' forever...once the needle started to drop we had to get gas.

Might not even need to replace it Josh, its just learning the personality of the boat if the gauge works.

Mine doesn't work at all either...every time I think to replace it, the gas tank is full to the brim, so I can't open the tank to replace the sender.

Yeah... So Brian? How do you like your steaks?

And Doran, your boat and mine must be kindred spirits! I guess 1/4 is the new E as I had a feeling that's what it was when I knocked on the tank last night and as soon as I started filling it with a 5 gal gas can tonight it was defiantly the sound of liquid pouring onto a dry metal surface!

After some throttle pumpin to force fuel down the now dry line she fired right up and stayed fired up for a good five minutes before I shut her down.

So as I hang my head in shame for cutting out outing short at least the "fix" is cheap! It'll only cost me a full tank of gas! ::)

Sean, yeah I remember you saying that!!! Brian had probably sucked the last of the gas in the line and the gauge was reading a quarter so we were convinced that wasn't it.

Gotta love irony huh?

Thanks for ferrying my kids around!

Funny Stuff...

No worries at all.  I was glad to be back in the bildge getting my hands and your diaper dirty.  Made for a fun afternoon.

I'm also quite pleased that it was the most simple thing.  Buch better that you were out of fuel and not something more serious.

I continue to state that this is the exact reason that the CGOAMN is the best group out there.  No questions asked...  no one left behind...  no problems that we can't laugh about in the end.

I take my New York Strip medium rare, and pan seared with a little salt and pepper.  Sauteed onions are a bonus!

Cheers!

Just name the day my friend! You and Lisa can come over for steaks any time, or Sarah and I will take you guys out somewhere!

Oh and just so we're all clear on the matter; it's Henry's diaper (my 2 year old)!
