Yes.. seats were redone ..
First three pictures are what the 1976 CV16 seats should look like.
Would have cost to much to have quilted pattern done and also very very hard to line everything up.

Next picture is seats that came with boat when I got it .. cheap none marine vinyl.
It was hard to get patterns off them, and made thing hard for my Buddy to copy.
He had to make quite a few adjustment.
Pleats on three of the seat bottoms line up perfect with seat backs .. Last seat was way off .. drove him nuts .. LOL
Side padding was easy .. I did them myself, he made transom curtain though ..

Yes .. Baystar ..
That is why I asked you about steering, with my motor lifted there was no way a steering cable would work without cutting holes in splash well. It about double the price of NFB .. but worth every penny IMO.

Hello ! I stared installing the carpet yesterday... I got the forward foot piece done and the 2 rear side pieces glued in . Now I need to trim the main floor carpet and glue that in . I do need to cut a hole for my steering rod that goes to the engine... I had a hole there but glassed it in to make a nice clean new one.
I like your black piece you have your cables going through. Keeps the water out too! Lol
Should have the carpet in next week then I finish the seat bottoms. I can’t wait to get her back in the water again!

NICE !
Looks like original style carpet ..
The black grommet thing for where steering cable comes out of splash well, came on boat, but have seen them on all boat dealer parts catalogs and online marine shops.
When I did the side panels for splash well, I spent a good hour trimming and stapling carpet to panels .. Then found I did both on same side, so had to redo one .. LOL

I've seen cable routing like this on some boats with jack plates.

Hi ! I looked for 2 years to find a carpet close to the original and I am very happy with this! About where your steering goes through, I did have to cut into the original hole and raise it . When I raised the transom, i glassed in the hole so I could cut a nice one where it needs to be.
The carpet is done ! Boy you can get a pretty good buzz on using that trim adhesive laying in the bottom smoothing it out ! Lol  Seat bottoms are next !
Is the orange boat yours too?   Ever think about clearing the upper part of the boat?

Carpet looks GREAT !
Do you have a link to were you found it ?
No .. Orange CVX16 is some guy on FB.

When I got my CV it was pretty dull and faded, use 800 thru 3000 wet sanding, then "3M Finesse it 2" then wax.
Shine came back to almost original. The color and shine were very close to what was under bow light and windshield trim.
You could try some heavy compound / FI2 / wax and see if shine comes back.
What do you mean by clear ? Clear gel or some kind of plastic paint sealer ?

Everything is looking great!

Where did you get the carpet? When I replaced my green carpet I had a heck of a time finding anything original and ended up getting some nice stuff from Home Depot but not 100% original.

Did you re paint/gel just the transom and blend it in or do the entire boat?

Hello... I got the carpet from this https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.com%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F163322492515

It’s called Holly Leaf green .. I bought a 9x12 piece.
I only flaked the transom, splash well and blended the top rear side decks. The rest are just cleared. The problem I had with the rest was the tips of the original flake was coming threw . A had a few stress cracks in the white so I fixed them and painted the white then cleared everything.

If you can run water over your deck and it look good, you can sand and clear it... clear gelcoat is a mess and TONS of work after it on!

Lol.  Thanks!  The Skyhawks I’ve had for 30 years now. She’s my baby! Lol the little boat ,a friend and I built that last spring. 2 sheets of 1/4 plywood, a 2x4, and some 1x2s and 40 hrs! Took me a month after that to finish.

When I was a kid, my dad bought me a 12’ Yellow Jacket with a Mark 25 Merc and these guys were running a round with these 14’ Glastron’s with 100 hp Mercs on them so when we painted the sides I had to have the marking on her ! I kind of built this for my grandson with my dad in mind...
