The idea or question came about when I was asked from a friend in Europe about how many CV21s I thought were still around. I guessed less than 100 but have no real clue. Also have no idea how many were made originally to have a context.
What do you think? Are these boats becoming more rare than they were when new? Will this ever equate to higher values like in cars?
-
Gregg probably knows the numbers, but they are rare. I've kept an eye out for one for years, still haven't found one. Same could be said of several models though, the Scimitar comes to mind.

No one really knows how many were made of each model.
I have no clue of how many are left.
Some where in the "Glastron Re Float" it states that 50,000 V156's were produced over a 10 to 12 year period.
Would guess that number of GT150's would be quite a few also.
There is this ... http://www.classicglastron.com/gl-reflt-p21.htm
My guess is that in the early 70's ... $8000 to $9000 was a LOT of money !
I brought a new car in 1979 for $3200 ..

I had no idea they were that much. I'm guessing that '71 would have been roughly the same price as '72.
My question was also about how this will affect the value and if anything from that time period will be remembered like cars are.

I don't know ..
" I'm guessing that '71 would have been roughly the same price as '72. "
Guessing the 1971 CV21 would be a few hundred less.
I check CL / eBay / Kiji / Marketplace every other day, I see asking price but don't know the actual selling price.
Asking price's are increasing, some are twice the amount of two years ago.
There was a CVX16 with asking price of $10,000 that sold about two weeks ago.
Saw a beautiful CVX16 at the meet that owner got about a month ago for about $3000 ..
New Glastron prices start at $35,000, Covid has boat / RV and other stuff selling like crazy .. I been told.
Most CV21 that come up for sale are in ruff shape.
You can go here and see all the "Price & Spec Sheets" I posted ... https://www.glastron.com/us/catalogs-and-product-information

The Recession in 1974 slowed boat production
a lot .Thats how I go my CV-19 . The bank was
going to take it from the owner and he sold it to
me for the pay off of 4500 dollars ,boat was 1 year old .
Original cost was as much as a new Corvette at the time.
