Then you would have  No Objections  if I trade it for an ole 150hp I found ?  wonder how much heavier it would be,  that 115 ain't no light weight,  I had to move the axle back on the trailer 14 inches to keep the tongue down.

Wow ... I'm almost ashamed to tell you Andy, I know how you feel about cutting up one of these old boats,  but I got this thing a couple years ago, maybe three, and I thought I'd like to build a two seater out of it, I cut out the widshield section and slid it back about 2 feet.  I had a 235 Johnson I was gonna put on it so I built a solid transom, with 5 layers of kevlar blended into the hull.  I don't think I lost interest in it, just got too busy on other things to finish it up, then one day Jerry said he liked the concept, so I decided to finish it up for him and Dot,  it is different, but So is Jerry.

I personally love the concept of a 2+2 GT-160...I was hoping you'd finish it, put a removable bow cover on it...and have a really unique (and fast) Glastron.

So I'm not the only one that's thought about beefing up a transom with kevlar, how'd that work out?

So I'm not the only one that's thought about beefing up a transom with kevlar, how'd that work out?

The only problem I had with the kevlar was cutting it .. I couldn't find anything that would sever the fibers .. except a Torch,  I burned it where I wanted it cut, then sissors would finish it off.  Drilling thedrain holes were a Pain,  the little fibers filled up the hole saw teeth, had to pull it out and clean the fibers off a couple times,  same thing with a drill bit.

Jerry Said ya couldn't have too much horse power .. so, I put the 150 Merc on it.

Here's a link the the transom build.

It's a "Drag Racer" Jerry ... just add wheelie bars

I had the tongue jack raised to get it off my truck, but that 150 is a bit heavier than the 115, I could'nt tell much difference in the tongue weight, by removing the jack plate,  I'm going to take the jack plate to the machine shop today and get them to remove the slide bolts,  I been soaking them with PB Blaster, they will probably shake them loose today, then I'll get it installed.

I like it. I'm thinkin with the wheelies you'll be able to pull it might pay to put a camera in the bow & monitor on the dash ...

Maybe I could just sneak the camara off the back of Barbs truck when she comes over,  she wouldn't miss it till she backs up to Burnin  Daylight ... LOL

Got the bolts free'd up on the jack plate,  they had Lock-Tite on em,  thats Good Stuff alright, but Not when ya try to break the bolts lose,  anyway, got-er-done, back on the boat, back out-side, back in line, Barb's boat is suposed to be finished tomorrow evening, be coming back for the finishing touches.

So it looks like you popped the lid on this, cut a chunk out and slid the helm and all back? We gotta see some more pics of that bow deck.
