Jumping wakes a little too fast
« on: February 23, 2011, 01:11:09 PM »
Not me, not a Glastron, just something I stumbled across.  Forgive me if this has been posted before.  Usually this type of stuff happens to race boats, not pleasure craft.

Be careful out there!

Wow, I guess he was using the automatic cut-off switch/lanyard?... good thing!  You never know what kind of rescue mission your day will turn into.

I've actually seen that one before somewhere (not here though).

If you watch carefully, he missed getting sliced up by about what...1 ft?  (And yeah, must have had the engine kill lanyard on.)  He gets tossed just as the boat is doing the 360 and ends up right behind the prop...very lucky.

Dang...iboats.com here I come...2 safety lanyards please.

Sometimes I catch myself straying but purty much wear the kill switch lanyard religiously. So should you. I usually wrap it around my right thigh. What the heck my right knee's always banging agin' the control box anyway ...

The only drawback to this method is if'n ya fergit to disconnect before you stand up & walk very far. The clip'll release & whack ya in the gonads. Trust me ...

I've got five of those on order from Cole Hersee, a quality marine switch mfg. at work.  If you want I'll post a pic and a "member price" (like Hotwired's starter ;) ) when they come in.
