Road Trip
« on: March 13, 2011, 10:40:44 PM »
me and the fox took a road trip. about 25 or so miles south west of Pueblo, Co.  We met up with a new friend up there to check out his 1980 emerald mist Scimitar, and  No !  I don't own it .. "yet" ..   ::)

Roger and Eunice live at the end of the road above a small town on about 44 achres ... Absolutely the most Beautiful place we have ever seen ... Stunning .  Rogers grandfather bought the place in 1910, a lot of the same structure is still in the new house, been a 7 year project,  I'll get some pic's posted as I get them re-sized,  I got over 130.

The Scimitar is really pretty, has all the perks you just can't find on one of these boats, but it needs just a little cosmetic touchin up, and it too will be stunning.

More later .. We're tired.

That is a pretty sweet looking boat, but I'm more interested in that red belly ford tractor...any details on that?

Beautiful boat. Looks like it never left the garage.  The homesite is picture perfect.

I attempted to take the CVX out this weekend but the local authorities had locked down the rivers due to at flood stage numbers. Should be down by this coming weekend and with a high of 78 it should be perfect.

Yeah, that's a nice Scimitar Red!  Sure looks like a beautiful property too.

Used to drive a tractor like that on the farm.

Yeah nice looking Scimitar, property, etc.

I'm diggin that custom storage cover. Looks like 'Forest' green Sunbrella from here. Bet that wasn't cheap. I'd get about 11 or 1200 bucks for a cover like that.

I'm thinkin: 2 Scimitars. 1 hot rod & one show quality ...?

yep! That is Just about every man's dream!

44 acres! Just think of the dirt track and demolitin derby pits you could throw on that property. If I had 44 acres i might even throw in a small lake for running the boat!

Funny you should mention it Jason I know a guy down in Lake Suzy that did just that. Dug his own skiing/watersports lake. Dunno exactly how big it is but he can pull a skier through a slalom course. No kidding! Must be nice.

Yep ... I went up there to look at the Scimitar to check it out for myself,  the owner cotacted me a couple weeks ago, and is thinking about putting it on the market come spring, he has only had it in the water two or three times in the last two years.  It's a pretty nice boat, has all the original hardware you just cant find anymore and the electric seat works all six functions.  The boat has been clear coated a few years back and there is a little peeling, but it is certainly the most solid Scimitar I have seen,  I pecked on all the wood structure with a small ball peen, transom, stringers, floor, and flotation boxes .. solid as a rock, and all original, it is certainly a solid structure.   The interior is original, other than the rear deck cover has been re-covered, with-out the buttons, and the back seat needs re-covered really, but that aside, it is a beauty.

The only way I would concider selling my boat was to buy one like that one, but I figure I will keep mine for now.

Hey Andy, yes, we had a good time, it is Beautiful up there where Roger lives.  I've created a web page for the boat so when he gets ready to list it, and comes up with a definate price for it, I'll post it here on the site first.  He and I will work out the details for the listing this week-end, I think.
Here's a link the web page I'm working on, and I still got more pic's of the boat and trailer, I just haven't had time to complete the page.
