Bleeding Mercruiser trim system
« on: May 12, 2013, 07:58:32 PM »
Just installed the trim system back in Phoenix Rising and I am wondering how I should go about bleeding the system?

I have heard and read that it is a self bleeding system, is this true? Or is there a specific procedure to follow?

Also, what fluid is recommended? I would presume the Quicksilver Power steering and power trim fluid.

Just so it is known I have already filled the pump reservoir with the quicksilver stuff and ran the cylinders to the up position.

That's pretty much it. You got the right fluid, Quicksilver or Mercury Power Steering & Trim Fluid. Just cycle the trim system full up and full down and keep adding fluid in between cycles until it won't take any more.
