you have to remember one thing this board is a lot more active than the national one, so if we see something odd one of us is bound to report it before it can do any damage.

Most people assume that a 'spammer' is some guy smoking a cigarette off in some windowless room in a former Eastern bloc country we've never heard of...
The reality is that its done from server farms (a lot of them in the USA) automatically running intelligent software that once 'In'...could bring down our tiny little corner of the world faster than it takes to log in...
Our only defense is to put up as many 'left turns' in the registration process to keep them at bay...and hope that SMF doesn't have some bug that bypasses all of their security measures.
Brian, Jason, Gregg and I do our best to keep the site backed up so that we'll loose as little as possible once they break our site...b/c its just a matter of time, unfortunately.
