75starflight, if you take pictures of what you find with the exhaust elbow, please share.

If muriatic acid is necessary to clean out rusted-shut water channels, should the elbow be repainted?
What kind of paint?
If a special paint, I'll need to get it in advance, so I have what I need at the cabin.

Eric

Eric, If I have time over the weekend I will remove the one off of my old 120 and take pictures of the steps for you. It is really easy!
On your paid question. Just pick up some black engine paint. I used rustoleum 500 degree engine paint for the 140 I built.

Find out anything Sean?
If the risers are plugged at all, while you  have them off, you might as well clean them.  I don't recall Jeff's being totally blocked but a reduction of even 30% could give you grief. If the are closed down smaller then the should be, you likely wont have to look any  further. The acid did a nice job.
