Today is a very sad day. We lost a legend Jimmy B. You could not find a man with a bigger heart that come and help anybody when there was a project to do. I am proud to call Jimmy my friend nobody else would drive a guy to a Detroit Mich to look at a boat for 15 minutes and turn around and come home. Or come and help move my daughter out of her apt.  These are just a few things. He his one of the few people that has been to all 14 cgoamn meets. Always there to help. Dam it Jimmy you will be deeply missed.  Rip in peace Mr Jimmy B

"You could not find a man with a bigger heart that come and help anybody when there was a project to do. "

Yep!......helped me fix the floor on the '85, gut the '79, towed the GF's paddle boat to the lake 2 1/2 hours(one way) into Wisconsin, stopped over one time and picked up ice cream treats for my boys. And a bunch of other stuff.

Your big heart will be missed Jim.......RIP buddy!

Thoughts & Prayers to Kelly and family.

Rachel Erickson post on FB Glastron Group ..

Glastron friends, if you have any stories or photos of my dad (Jim Barrett/Tonka Jim) that you would like to share, please message me directly as we are hoping to use them to create a keepsake for our mom.
Below is his obituary and celebration of life information, along with the link for the live stream of the service for those that are not in the Minnesota area.
Charles James "Jim" Barrett III, age 70, entered eternal rest on January 25, 2022.
Jim was born December 10, 1951 in Minneapolis to Charles Jr and Barbara, he was the second of 6 children.
The family moved to Lake Minnetonka in Mound in the late 1950's. Jim graduated from Mound High School in 1970.
He was preceded in death by a son, Paul Just, sister, Mary Dreier, and his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife Kelly, sons, Matthew Just and Erik (Inez), daughters, Rachel, Ashley, and Sarah, Grandchildren Tanner, Jaimen, Carlee, Rayna, Josephine, and the anticipated arrival of two more grandbabies in the coming weeks.
Jim had so much love for his family, his friends, and boating. His favorite weekend of the year was "Boat Weekend" when he got to spend four days with both his family and his Glastron boat buddies on the Mississippi and St. Croix rivers. Jim was diagnosed with Stage 3 metastatic lung cancer in February 2020, and completed chemo and radiation during the early days of COVID. Because of his weakened immune system, he was unable to be around many people during the last two years, but it gave him and Kelly so much time together after his cancer battle. As his lungs got weaker, some of his best days were spent with his 3 favorite grand-girls, and waiting impatiently for his two new grandbabies to arrive.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, February 5th at 11am with visitation starting at 9:30am at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 5005 Northwest Blvd, Plymouth, MN 55442. The celebration of life will be live streamed on the Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church's YouTube channel at  ..
